LAT Says Bye To Hip Hop Journo

Chuck Philips, the Pulitzer-winning Los Angeles Times reporter who has devoted the latter part of his career to investigating the deaths of Tupac and Notorious B.I.G., has been let go by the paper. The official report that his departure is part of a "drastic" effort on the part of the paper to cut costs, and that several other veteran journalists will be leaving as well. I'm sure all of this had nothing at all to do with it. [AHH]
