Now that word of Lauryn Hill's eccentric performance in Oakland last week has swept the Internet, a video has surfaced of L Boogie at the concert talking about her mysterious, years-long absence from the limelight and explaining how her record company wanted to turn her into "an iconic identity that was crystallized." Sounds scary. Her attempt at letting her confused audience know where her head was probably confused them even more, but I'm sure they welcomed the brief respite from her clumsy falls and alien warbling.
