The American dollar is at such a terrible low that it's not even cool to carry around obnoxious stacks of it anymore. Ask Jay-Z.

In a video for the movie "American Gangster," hip-hop maestro Jay-Z thumbs through a wad of 500-euro notes on a night of cruising through the concrete canyons of New York, a city where the euro isn't legal tender. The euro gained against the dollar today as European economic growth in the third quarter accelerated more than forecast.

My family members in Europe come here now. No one goes over to see them anymore. It's a damn shame and it's putting a damper on my attempt to be more worldly.

That's been slowly happening. My last trip to Europe had more stays in hostels and low bidget hotels than when I went in college. Ugh.

The euro has been kicking the dollars ass for at least a decade, but now it's just ridiculous. Don't even get me started on the british pound, which OWNS the dollar. Ugh

I think it was $1.60 or so = 1 pound the last time I visited. It's like $2.15 now. The euros only been out since 1999 or 2000, but yes, it has been appreciating in value while the dollar has been falling.
