Making The Band 4 Redux
Cherishing The Time I Have Left With Laurie Ann

I might have expressed my unnatural love for reality shows featuring dancing once or twice here on Stereohyped, so you must understand that MTV's Making The Band series is a favorite of mine. And, since I am a fan of the dance, you must also understand that I find Laurie Ann Gibson, endlessly entertaining.

From her opening line, a glee-filled shout telling us that "[we] already know," to her boom-cat-cat sound effects, delivered with such passion that she lost her voice, Laurie Ann is, if I may quote Ne-Yo here, a movement by herself. A totally imbalanced but talented movement.

I am anxiously anticipating her showdown with Diddy, but also dreading her inevitable departure from the series. How can it be the same without her? The answer is simple. It cannot.

The editors focused so much on building up tension between the two, like when Diddy told her to "shut the f*ck up," that I barely paid any attention to the actual contestants, who weren't that interesting, to be honest. How about you? Did anyone watch it? Or am I the sole person keeping the MTB franchise alive?

No, Lauren. YOu are not the only MTB watcher. I haven't seen this first ep yet, but I certainly will. I can't imagine it without Laurie either. Perhaps Diddy will ask her back toward the end of the season.

Still mad she tried to say she was 27 in a King magazine article last year. She was a dancer on In Living Color! lol

I just found this link to an interview by Michael Bivins on JAM 94.5 concerning the incident.

The whole Laurie Ann thing sounds a bit suspect to me. I watched the show Monday and from what I remembered since the beginning of the show this season, LA was trying hard to be in the spotlight. If you remember, when Diddy announced his team to the contestants LA was the last to be announced and she was given the spotlight. If I remember it correctly, she had on sunglasses and a fur coat (or something like it)…eventhough they were indoors filming at night…??!! She also made the coment on Monday’s show that if she weren’t there, there would be no show. I highly doubt that!!!

She became quite the DIVA since her humble beginnings from MTB3. Just like Aubry’s (of Danity Kane) transformation from Season 1 of MTB3 to Season 2 of MTB3. They believed the hype and “their ugly came out”!!! As for LA’s singing career…GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!!!! I also hope she doesn’t burn any bridges with her “tell all” book. I wonder if she’s doing all this because her newfound antics have cost her gigs and people are a little leary of working with her fearing that they may be portrayed as a fellow lunatic or have their private lives/secrets spelled out in a future “tell all”? Who knows? I hope all this “hoopin’ and hollerin’” gets her somewhere. If not, ……….

Oh yeah, I found her credits on "In Living Color". They were from 1992 and 1993. That would make her about 13 or 14 years old when she did the show if she were 27 or 28 years old now. I HIGHLY doubt that!!! Laurie Anne, you've been caught in that lie, what else are you lying about??? Hmm…???
