In his Essence cover story, Usher gives his take on what makes a great parent, which basically boils down to acting like the man you want your son to be. And since he already has a pretty high opinion of himself, half of the job is already done. "Now I represent what he is to become," Usher says about his son. "He's gonna admire me, he's gonna look up to me. He's gonna say, 'I wanna be' – or he should say – 'I wanna be like my father. I wanna be a man of valor. I wanna possess what my father has as a man.'" [People]
He must be into that hot yoga. How else could he possibly have the flexibility to blow so much smoke up his own bum?
"valor"?! for what? Making millions doing something with God-given talent? Giving some back to the community that made you successful? Being a dad, a job that he freely signed up for? Marrying the mother of his child? Heroic? Or doing your job, a job that you chose btw?
@ Daria - I couldn't have said it any better! He is very arrogant.I didn't think he was that much of a stand up guy.
I haven't read this article, but what I want to know is what type of father/role model is to Foster's other children. I sure don't see them on the cover.
Step back for a second - can you imagine that you mom leaves your dad for some other guy and they have a baby together. And now that baby is on the cover of Essence and is photo'd all the time with his parents and you are not in the mix at all?
Seems pretty sh*tty to me.
@Qui:
I would say bad mother and blind stepfather. If she did it once, she can do it again.
It seems as though Usher wants praise for taking care of his child like he's supposed to.
um…no…
Someone needs to send him the Chris Rock clip.
I wanna man who can speak proper English!
Why is he on the cover of Essence for the second time in less than a year? I have never found him attractive (and thus, cover-worthy), like his music alright (Yeah is my "getting dressed for a night out" jam and some of the rest, Bleh), and his Diddy Jr. arrogance is unbelievable. Do I need to reach out to Essence, the Black women's mag, to tell them to put Black women of substance on the cover? No more Diddy, Usher, etc. At least their new interview format is short as hell. He won't be able to say too much to annoy me.
