Mariah Carey Has Expensive Taste In Art And Furnishings, Cheap Taste In Most Other Things

Sometimes people spend a lot of money and collect things in a sad attempt to fill other voids in their lives. I'm just sayin'…

So says Mariah Carey, telling Interview's Ingrid Sischy why she doesn't own very much art. Her tastes are too extravagant.

So is this why she's never wearing enough clothes? She would be totally covered up in extravagant couture, but then she wouldn't have any money. Finally, some understanding!

I can't believe that I am coming to her defense, but not everyone is into art, etc. I have a hard time not looking down my nose at ppl who don't know about certain things that I consider "culture." What makes one person cultured, doesn't make the next. I'd rather her not own art than own it and not know a damn thing about it….which is what most ppl do with anything that is considered cultured. And, let's be honest just because you have money doesn't mean you have good taste. She has the intellect of a 16 year old.
