Michigan and Florida Problem: Solved?
Sorta, Almost, Kinda, But Not Really

michigan.jpgThe Michigan and Florida problem. You know what it is. Michigan and Florida decided to hold their primaries before Super Tuesday, the DNC stripped the states of their delegates, the states had the primaries anyway, Hillary "won" both of them, and now after all is said and done Floridians, Michiganers (?), Hill, and Julian Bond are pissed that the votes won't be counted. Everyone is scrambling to find a solution, and Michigan might have come up with one. A committee of state democrats (including the Kwame Kilpatrick's mama) has proposed a primary paid for with private funds. The proposal has to be approved by the state legislature, and since the primary cut-off is June 10th, there's a bit of a rush.

In Florida, the idea is to have a joint mail-in and in-person vote. But no one there seems really happy with it, including Obama's camp, and it might not happen. But as upset as their constituents are about not having their votes counted, members of the legislature — who knew this was going to happen — seem less than willing to compromise or come up with ideas. Dude…Lauren…dude…

Of all the logos to use, you used UofM's? Come on!! I can't bear to look at that.

…I'm protesting the site until that UofM logo is replaced with a suitable logo. Maybe a giant green 'MSU' or a picture of Sparty? :)

Gaah. Why can't we get voting right? I know it's a big country and there seem to be plenty of people who don't want anyone to have the vote, but jesus.

My two rubber red cents (can I change those to Euros?):

I live in FL. I KNOWZ how it feels to have your vote stolen. And I hate it when I see these inrepresentative caucases and open primaries steal elections from us real everyday people.

My solution: PRIMARIES must be closed to the party alone. Why should Republicans and Independants choose/vote for the Democratic candidate?

Let them choose their own damn candidate!

I agree with closing the primaries, because in Texas it was Rush Limbaugh's Republicans who gave Hillary the win. and in Mississippi 34% of Hillary's 38% vote came from Rush Limbaugh's Republicans.
Therefore if there is a do-over it Florida and Michigan, it should be closed, so the Republicans can't try to keep any Democratic candidate afloat.

Their votes should NOT be counted. SORRY! Rules are rules. You definitely should not be able to change the rules in the middle of the game! FL and MI residents should VOTE their elected officials out! It’s not fair to change the trajectory of the race at this point. If we allow this to happen, how will we know it will not continue to happen in the future???????
