Oh, I get it now. T.I. was going to war with a Latino gang from L.A.

• Sixty Latino gang members, who authorities say targeted African American rivals, were arrested on federal racketeering and drug charges yesterday. The photo running with the story looks shockingly similar to something we've seen before. [LAT]

• What do you know? White people wear me out sometimes, too! [TD]

• Eminem is getting old. That's all. [DN]

• Louis Farrakhan gives a speech in Atlanta, and he might have made some good points if he had any credibility at all. [AJC]

• Whether it's right or wrong — and it's pretty much dead wrong, in my opinion — there's no way in hell Washington football fanatics are going to let go of the name, "Redskins." [BSN]

Okay, I'm from Tallahassee so I'm hearing a lot of these reactions. If you read the TD article… then read the comments, it makes you (well, me at least) sad.

I don't agree completely with the article. Some points he made I chose to let go because in general, he was trying to make a good point.

This case/issue is a big big deal in the World/US, but specifically in Florida and even more specifically in Tallahassee.

There are some real 60s civil rights type rumblings going on here. I've heard some things, but I will not go into them.

I just hope that people understand that while there is a significant aspect of racism in this case, please let's not forget that a young (black) boy with who knows how many possibilities for his future died and no one, I repeat, no one, is being held accountable for that.

I read the article as well and I thought he expressed his feelings and got his point across very well. He feels that racism had alot to do with the jurys decision as do I. Do you feel the outcome wouldve been different if the boy was white? Its a shame that we as human beings think this way but we have to becuase its blantantly obvious that race comes into play all the time in our justice system.

It hasnt even been half a century since the civile rights movement, and this is to be expected by humans by nature becuase racism will still be passed on down through the generations. The white children that grew up through the civil rights movement that had pro-white non equality driven parents are now parents and more then likely teaching their kids the same who are now either young adults or these teenagers.

We hope that things would have changed and they have dont get me wrong, but that mindset is still there and it will be for a while. Thats why it has to be addressed as soon as its presented. I applaud that article because thats one more person willing to say "This is rediculous" and thats what we need.

Take him for what he is…Minister Farrakhan can speak some truth! My mother went to see him once when I was really young…maybe 8 years old…and I begged to go. I remember being mesmerized at all of the beautiful black women wearing these white gowns and headdresses. The event was at the Great Western Forum so the place was packed from the rafters to the floor in what I recall as a sea of white gowns. I also remember him being a very dynamic speaker.

I think they should change the names of the sports teams. That whole "but that's been the name/symbol of the team for years" excuse is trite.
Those names and images are stereotypical. I waiting on a football team to be called the Niglets. Hey, maybe they can get rid of the Lions and create a new team called the Detroit Niglets.

How about the L.A. Halfbreeds? I like that one.
