"insisting movies shouldn't be classified that way just because they star black people. "

The Gabster just scored about 50 points with me for that comment. It's about time black celebrities began noticing the negative categorization of all black movies as being 'urban'. I loathe that term being used to describe anything related to black people.

I can't that word either. What exactly is "urban"? Especially when movies like The Perfect Christmas and This Christmas–if not Soul Food, et al–are set in suburban America!

As for Australia, they have serious issues when it comes to their Aboriginal population.

Hmmm…
To second Gabby Union, Black does not equal urban. Technically, Sex and the City is urban. It actually takes place in an urban area. Something New took place in the suburbs, right? And Roots, well Roots was in the country. Those aren't very urban places. I guess they're attributing the "urbaness" to the audience. But even that's off base.

Well, to white people, black = urban.

"according to the female judge, the child probably wanted to have sex with them in the first place"
As a woman, I am just sickened by this. They probably assigned a female judge because we supposedly defend our kind, but I guess her other kind is more important than her gender. I wouldn't wish that on any innocent human being, but I'm seriously thinking that this poor excuse for a woman and a judge needs to experience some shit herself. This kind of bullshit in the legal system is why people in my country take justice into their own hand. Step 1: gather relatives, friends, neighbors. Step 2: have victim identify her attackers. Step 3: Catch, strip and burn attackers alive. The end.
