• I hate agreeing with Al Sharpton. [FOX]
• It happens in law firms, too. [LAW]
• The "race war" is being played up in the media more than the race card is being played between Obama and Clinton — the candidates themselves, not the "camps." But whatever. I don't feel that divided. [WP]
• Hispanic and black lawmakers in Buffalo are at odds. All the way across the country from LA! [WKBW]
• John McCain makes sure we know that he didn't father a little black child out of wedlock, he adopted a little Indian child with his wife. Big difference! [LAT]
The coming "race war" will not be btwn blacks and whites. It will be btwn blacks and latinos. I've seen first hand what it can do to a city. Those mostly affected are lower income people. Our urban cities are in for a rude awakening very soon unless some one addresses the issue nationally.
In regards to the racist law firm article:
"That is absolutely and completely false," Newman says. "It is a travesty that she would say something like that."
Translated: I can't believe she told on me. Crap, I just got busted.
I believe she said it. I worked at a place once where my boss didn't want to hire women with children. He told that women with children are unreliable b/c shit is always going wrong with their kids (child care issues, illness, school) and he needed someone he could count on. The sad part is that women would walk in for interviews, get comfortable during the interview and start gushing about their kids. I felt sorry them b/c I knew that they had just kissed the job goodbye.
On McCain, it was Rove who started the he-has-an-illegitimate-black-child business.
Go ahead and embrace Rev. Al's position. On this he has been consistent and speaks the truth.
