It obviously wasn't Johnny that ended it because I'm sure that's been going on all along. Why is Tracey painted as a gold digger? She's a producer and played a big role in La Face. I don't even like her but why does every black woman who dates rich men become a gold digger? Someone please explain.
I volunteered at a nursing home with mostly white patients/residents. The conditions were horrendous so I don't even want to think about how bad it is for black people in there. I stopped going when a nurse literally pushed an 80 something year old man back in his wheelchair (the kinda flimsy ones for people who can walk but not for very long, sorta like the ones women in labor get) when he was getting up to use the restroom. I went and asked if someone would assist him. When I got back, he had soiled himself and they just left him and the urine sitting there.
…good for Jamie Lynn because her mama and her sister are in no shape to be giving anyone advice. It's good that she has someone to turn to.
daria,
Stuff like that breaks my heart. I could never work in a nursing home b/c the second a fellow staff member treated an elderly person like shit, I'd go off.
When my great-grandmother was dying we had to put her in a hospice. My great-grandmother was very cantankerous and was fond of calling the black nurses "colored bitches" so she took some getting used to by the nurses. A couple of them had real foul attitudes with her that made me side-eye them hard. I went to visit my momo one day and she had clearly been ignored and mistreated. I called my mother and told her to get over to the hospice quick b/c I was about to put a boot into one of the nurses asses. Long story short…I got thrown out and "questioned" by the police. No charges we filed against me, but I WILL NEVER PUT ANY OF MY LOVED ONES IN A HOME.EVER.EVER.EVER. The shit that goes down in those places is too shady and I might have to kill a motherfucker for messing with my people.
When my Momo finally died they wrapped her up in a sheet and left her in her bed for 3 hours. I wanted to put my cross around her neck, but I couldn't b/c the foul-ass bitches that worked in that place would have stolen it. Ok…I have to stop with story b/c I am getting upset, but long story short…please vet your nursing homes well and visit your people often.
hospices are better nowadays. nursing homes aren't. hospices also push home care these days because that's what's covered. if someone has a very serious condition like everyone in hospice, i'd really prefer clinician there
The people who work in those places are under paid and have to deal with a lot of crap. Old people can be very difficult as we all know. Also many people who work in those homes are not educated and come from backgrounds not conducive to working with helpless, difficult people.
I may be a day late and a dollar short but I agree with Daria…why is Tracey being labeled as a gold digger? She has money that she earned from her own talents. She's dating rich men because she doesn't want a broke ________ taking her money.
