The Tufts thing is reprehensible. I can't believe I hadn't heard about that before this post.
Lucille Clifton is fantastic. In a memorial service for VA Tech held on our campus, a professor closed with her 9/11 poem, "September's Song, A Poem in Seven Days." This is wonderful news.
Somehow I don't see Rita Dove (former U.S. Poet laureate, and black woman) throwing books around and screaming at her publicist, "That bitch! I am a far better poet than she is! What does she have that I don't have! I've got hips! I've got hips!"
Who knows. Maybe that does happen. It certainly would be entertaining.
