jhudsatc.jpg• For some reason, Kelly Rowland just can't understand why Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson landed the role in the Sex and the City movie that she tried out for. Incidentally, the role was created because, according to Sarah Jessica Parker, "African-American women and women of color have been a big part of our audience for a long time (and) we really haven't been responsible to them." True words. [SB]

• Star Jones has now resorted to hosting Bad Girls Club reunion specials. At least she's good at it. [Jezebel]

• Whitney Houston was cleared of all drug charges stemming from that one time she tried to bring three joints on a plane in Hawaii. [SP]

• New music from Michael Jackson! Sadly, there's no way to make old music from Michael Jackson new again. [Bossip]

• Ashanti made some ill-advised makeup choices at the premiere of the new Indiana Jones. [C&D]

Seinfeld. Most sitcoms based in NYC. It's amazing that shows based in some dinky suburb somewhere have probably had more people of color than the NY based ones. We're not even extras! I don't know what city they're living in but there isn't a single street in NY I've ever strolled down without spotting a handful of Asians, Blacks and Latinos.

Well I am sure J-Hud will do a good job.

Kelly Rowland is much, much too beautiful for that part. I'm sure they didn't want to cast anyone that would outshine the lead characters. Jenny Hudson is cute, but Kelly Rowland is a sex bomb. As far as the casting directors were concerned, it was safer to have a black girl that wasn't in any way more attractive than the leads. I'm just sayin'.

I didn't understand all the hype about Jennifer Hudson playing Carrie's assistant. To me it was like a step down. She is the only oscar winning actress among all those women playing a role where she takes orders. I am so over with this movie. I can't wait for May 31. I also want to let everyone know that they market the movie to different demographic. I didnt' see one commerical with Jennifer Hudson until I was watching BET. Then I was was watching a documentary on LOGO (gay channel) and the commerical was geared to lesbians…..very interesting.

I luvs ya, Kelly but when are you going to wake up and sniff the haterade? Your manager is Mathew Knowles! If Beynonsense (Yes I'm patenting that name) couldn't have that part, your background singing behind sho nuff was not going to get it. This movie is not going straight to DVD (like The Seat Filler, that I happen to like btw) so Kelendria, keep on playing your position if you want to. When you are ready to step it up, get a manager that actually wants you to succeed.

@sweetdiva - I couldn't have written it any better. I agree 100%. I feel Beyonce likes to portray that she loves the other two members of Destiny's Child but to me it is a front. I think Denstiny's Child was a vechicle to make Beyonce a star. I feel Kelly is just as talented as Beyonce but she doesn't get to shine a brightly as Beyonce…..it is really sad.
