Ethiopia has always been a popular choice for Europeans looking to adopt. Americans (at least those in my area) seem to adopt exclusively from China and Eastern Europe. If it takes celebrities like Brangelina, Madonna, Nicole Kidman and that little midget chipmunk ex of hers to make adopting black kids okay, then fine. I think that we now have enough knowledge and resources as a society to raise children from different cultures without having them lose their identities. I do agree that it's nice to have someone in the family who looks like you so it's good that they are adopting "matching" kids. All these white people are uppity about it, but it makes a lot of sense.

I want a little Cambodian baby boy now. Mohawk included. Just one though. Kids are expensive.

“Ethnic” children are not commodities. You should not just be able to get a “little Cambodian” boy at a whim and have a matching set as if they were some sort of China or cutlery.

Are the many Chinese baby girls adopted by white families commodities? People adopt because they want kids and if they want to adopt other "ethnic" babies, then fine as long as they can provide an environment in which they can thrive.

It's important for kids to have people around them that look like them, both at school and in the home. All my adopted friends were adopted from Asia by white families. They never felt they completely fit with their families because no one looked like them and they had a lot of issues growing up as a result, esp. the girls. It doesn't need to be politically correct. What matters is that the kids grow up happy and well-adjusted without issues regarding their appearance or culture.
