Jermaine Dupri recently decided to shut down his new health food restaurant in Atlanta. “The economy has changed dramatically and people just aren’t eating out as much anymore,” Dupri told AllHipHop.com. “People are cutting back everywhere and a lot of companies, including Café Dupri, are feeling the affect. For the past two months business at the Café has been down and if the business isn’t making money, I feel its a smart move to shut it down. Bottom line: if it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense.”
It's unfortunate that it's a health food store that gets shut down. I'm sure if he sold $1 Ginormous meals, he'd be making lots of money. I'm not one to talk since the BK value menu is now a regular part of my diet. It's great to live on health foods and then 2-3 times a week wash down the 2 1/2 lbs of carrots you polished off for breakfast and lunch with a jr. whopper or sausage and biscuit and cookie dough pie.
I agree with the man in terms of the reason why to close down a restaurant..the economy is part of the reason why people don't dine as much as they once had..It is important to get as much bang for the buck and most restaurants aren't catering to that. The value of the meals in restuarants in relevance to proportion to cost don't mesh and thusly disappoint the consumer/customer etc; however, I don't agree with the manner in which he closed the doors of his establishment..which was like a thief in the night with no warning to his employees. They just came in to report to work only to find the doors had been padlocked. Needless mention, checks bouncing or could not be cashed until a certain day after reciept.
