The month of March came to a close yesterday and Robert Mugabe, the ruthless leader of Zimbabwe for the last 28 years, is rumored to be ending his presidency accordingly: like a lamb.
The 84-year-old Mugabe certainly came in like a lion, crushing his opponents with threats and torture. But now political analysts say his advisers are encouraging him to resign following a defeat at the polls at the hands of opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai. Why must he resign if he's been defeated? Good question, but that's Zimbabwe under this freakin' guy's yoke of tyranny.
The inflation rate in the nation is now 100,000 percent. Good riddance, Bobby!
My sentiments exactly, bye bye Bobbi. A sad reality of life in Africa is that most of these leaders come into power with so much promise for a better tomorrow and then turn out to be tyrant dictators who rule their people through the fist of intimidation, torture, ethnic and religious division.
In my opinion Mugabe holds the second place position after Momar Khadafi for the title of "Loud mouth goof". However, unlike Mugabe Khadafi has seen the writing on the wall and made serious strides to improve his image in his homeland of Libya and the international community.
When Bill Clinton made his trip to Africa he had placed his hope on a new generation of African leaders such as Isaias Afwork (Eritrea), Meles Zenawi (Ethiopia), Paul Kegami (Rwanda) and Thabo Mkebi (South Africa). Sadly these leaders with the exception of Kegami turned out to be much a disappointment just like Mugabe.
The ousting of Mugabe means nothing at the end of the day, especially if his replacement will do nothing in terms of leading.
