Barack Obama cracking jokes/campaigning in Portsmouth, N.H., today:
“This feels good, just like I imagined it when I was talking to my kindergarten teacher…
“Hope is what I saw in the eyes of the folks going to caucus last night,” Obama said, “If you ware willing to reach for what you know in your gut is possible. If you believe, as I believe, that we have to reach out and give the next generation the same chances that somebody gave us, if you believe in keeping the dream alive for those who still hunger for opportunity and still thirst for justice, then I am absolutely convinced that we will win the New Hampshire primary in four days.”
Don't crown him yet people. Hillary still has a lot of fight in her, still is the national choice and still has a major infrastructure. I'm not totally delusional…she has to win New Hampshire or she's probably done - although she's gonna keep going straight through to Super Tuesday.
I wanted to let Obama have the spotlight for a day (I'm not that much of a bitch), but then Billie made that comment….
Just a little extra ribbing, Billie. All in good fun.
I'm glad Barack won, I didn't expect him to win. I hope he wins the New Hampshire election as well. Although I would love a woman president too, Barack just seems more relatable to me. Hopefully, if Barack wins the New Hampshire election or Hilary wins, they will team up to make the ultimate democratic team!!!!
No, he hasn't won the election nor the nomination but hearing the wonder and pride in my almost 90 year-old grandmother's voice when she said, "I never, ever thought I'd live to see this day" was enough to make me giddy about what's possible.
If Barack manages to win the nomination, he will definetely have my vote. If he continues to get a free pass (he has no viable solutions) this will be HISTORIC.
I'm glad to see new thinking moving forward, such as Obama, but I am concerned about his true loyalty to this country and his Muslim background. Remember that it's accepted, and promoted to mislead just to get ahead in the Muslim religion… This guy seems a bit shady in that regard. Otherwise, I'd like to see any minority / woman president - so long as they mean the vows they take in order to get in to office.
Heck anything other than Democrat / Republican in office would be a good 'reboot' of the country.
Peace - Out.
Solitaire - your comment re him getting a free pass is what scares me. We went through this with Bush and now look what we've got. Just b/c someone is a Dem doesn't mean they can't fuck everything up. Being able to give a great speech is meaningless if you can't govern (it's meaningless anyway). I think people are blinded by hope and not seeing with reality. I don't trust him. There's something slick, arrogant and insincere about him…like he's hiding something. Shit, at with least the Clinton's we know their dirt. LMAO.
His momentum from Iowa is insurmountable for Hillary especially considering that John Edwards knows that he must take her out to have any viability. The debates in New Hampshire clearly showed she's the best candidate, but people are so caught up in personality and warm and fuzzy. At one point John Edwards was talking (for the billionth time) about his daddy the coal miner and the Barrack started talking about his grandmother then Hillary said "can we have a reality break for a minute." I spit out my wine laughing. The reality is John Edwards doesn't know shit about being a coal miner and his father is so far removed from that that he really needs to stop talking about it and Barack chimes in so that he can get on the warm and fuzzy boat, too. I don't need my president to be warm and fuzzy. I have a cat for that. Anyway…Hillary is going to lose tomorrow and then South Carolina is pretty much a done deal, too.
Like I've said before, I always support the party's nomination b/c having a Dem president is more important to me than Hillary or any candidate, but I don't have to be happy about it. LOL.
