Opposites Attract

Kimora Lee Simmons is the new face of PETA's campaign to get people to stop chaining their dogs in backyards. A noble cause, sure — it always kills me to see dogs on a chain outside all day — but isn't PETA sort of sleeping with the enemy here?

Even is she didn't wear fur, I'm sure she wears leather. The PETA ppl I know don't even do that so PETA makes concessions with their spokespersons a lot it would seem.

PETA is floundering. Signing up celebrities for public service announcements doesn't translate into increased membership. PETA is failing due to their ironic philosophy of demanding respect for all animals yet operating kill shelters. Unchaining dogs is a good idea, and Kimora is fabulous but PETA has serious credibility issues.
