Oprah Winfrey reluctantly — her producers made her do it, she said — surprised her guests Friday with "Oprah's favorite Things for the Summer." Predictably, the audience freaked the hell out, even though her summer pickings were pretty measly (think grills, makeup, a turkey burger recipe, and that damned A New Earth book she won't stop talking about) compared with this winter's favorite things. But maybe some of the audience excitement had to do with the fact that the Rachel Pally Swing Turtleneck and Sailor Pants combo didn't make the list.
I watched that show I found it to be disturbing. All those women screaming about getting what Oprah likes. Sounds really self-absorbed to me.
I don't think we're ever going to forget that Rachel Pally outfit. LMAO!
She's Oprah MF-ing Winfrey (in the words of Dave Chappelle). She can be self-absorbed.
I2I Daria.
Can we just learn to accept that some people have a natural rock star appeal and can draw other people to them with ease. Think Oprah, Obama,JFK and maybe maybe B.Clinton before showing his true colors(no pun intended).
The popularity of the Kennedy's still baffles me when you read the history books. Other than the life stories that beats the hell out of any movie, I don't understand why people like them so much. JFK's appeal still baffles me cuz he really didn't do a damn thing. Scratch that. He didn't do anything remotely beneficial. RFK had many of the qualities that are falsely attributed to JFK. Had he lived to become president, our country would probably be a different place. His loss is a real tragedy. If Obama or anyone else wants to draw comparisons to a Kennedy, make it Bobby. Reagan had JFK's popularity (yeah, really). Clinton got his wandering eye though I believe Clinton's to be a matter of convenience whereas JFK seemed significantly pickier with his side dishes. Gerald Ford **MAYBE** is the only president since who has had RFK's qualities.
There is nothing new with Bill Clinton. He won in 92 because he could fight and fight dirty. The "true colors" would be fighting dirty against someone you like.
Lindon Johnson(JFK VP before his assination) was the president who got all of the civil rights legislation moving but for some reason blk folk love the Kennedys. I hardly ever hear blk folk talk about Johnson the same way they do JFK.
True. JFK didn't really want to rock the boat as seen by his actions (or better yet, inactions) during most of his presidency. If you look at it, his brother Bobby is the one who pushed the civil rights issues. While he launched the whole spying on MLK due to reported ties to communism, he, not his brother, chose to figure out what was going on in the south instead of choosing to not rock the boat. Lyndon B Johnson was far more committed to civil rights than JFK ever was. JFK and Reagan… just for the life of me can't understand the appeal.
