I am really sad at that pic in the NYT. Did we really need to be seen slathering chemicals on? And what was up with the embarassing quotes? I think we are just comical fodder for the media. That article reinforces every negative stereotype EVER said about black people. God created woman second so I have second thoughts about Hillary as president? Obama is gonna get killed? Dumb. Just dumb.

Oh…and re Jamie. Hmmm…he coined the term "crackish" right? Well he's a little too "blackish" when compared to the Fresh Prince. Jamie is immensely talented, but the powers that be don't get the warm and bougie fuzzies around him like they do with other boy.

Hmm. Let's see. Will did Fresh Prince, a show that people of all ages and backgrounds enjoyed. The show was great in so many ways and the ability to have mainstream appeal is due to upper-class background. TV is an escape and shows our aspirations. Few aspire to managing a hotel a la Jamie's sitcom.

I'll question your version of "blackish." Will grew up in the Ideal Black Family and had great opportunities including a scholarship to an Ivy. He's being himself. He is married to a black woman, dotes on his children, co-parents with his first wife, has enjoyed mainstream success for FAR longer than Jamie.
Jamie's mother abandoned him with his grandparents. He didn't have nearly as smooth an upbringing. His show featured working class people. He has a new chick on his arm every day and has a daughter out of wedlock.
Of course Will enjoys more mainstream success. He is basically a walking photo-op for the type of personal and professional success we all want.

Ah yes, another stereotype of black women. We're always getting our hair done.

Why is Jamie hating? Will Smith works hard too. Nothing he has was handed to him. In fact I think Will works harder. Maybe Will smith has more range and can take on more roles? Do you think Jamie Fox would be as good as Will Smith in Pursuit of happiness. Hell No. Jamie did a good job with "Ray" but thats his thing, I doubt Will can play those types of roles as good as Jamie. Jamie just needs to stop hating and stop wearing clip on earrings.

I hated Fresh Prince. That show sucked. I also hate Will Smith. He's corny as hell. Like an adult Nick Cannon. Y'all can keep his goofy ass.
