Neo-nazi radio programs are completely acceptable venues for men who hold on-air positions on major news networks to promote their revisionist history World War II books, right? Right? I mean, obviously it's acceptable. Otherwise MSNBC would have gotten rid of Pat Buchanan by now. He appeared on the aptly-named Political Cesspool a couple of weeks ago to talk about his book, Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War: How Britain Lost Its Empire and the West Lost the World. The stated mission of the show is to "represent a philosophy that is pro-White" and "to revive the White birthrate above replacement level fertility and beyond to grow the percentage of Whites in the world relative to other races." Other recent guests on Political Cesspool include Willis Carto, whom TNR calls the most prominent anti-Semite in America, Mark Weber, the director of a Holocaust-denial organization, and Jared Taylor, the editor of a eugenicist publication. Pat Buchanan fits in with this bunch of fringe loonies, but why on earth do network execs continue to think a guy like this fits in at MSNBC? [TNR]
right, it's acceptable for white assholes to talk about pro-white ideology, but when a non-white person talks about denying the Holocaust or criticizing white people, the media is in an uproar over it.
I fucking hate the American media.
I don't understand why MSNBC would have this poster boy of all prejudices on air in the first place.
I am writing a judiciously worded e-mail to their newsroom (at letters@msnbc.com).
Deaf Feminist Punk,
I wouldn't put criticising white people and denying the holocaust in the same basket.
Anyone can, and should, criticise everything.
But only complete ignorants deny the holocaust. All were persecuted; Jews of all colours, gays and lesbians, Romas, black Christians, women with "loose morals", differently-abled people, etc).
Pat disappoints me.
I dont see whats wrong with bigging up your own race. Right now white Europeans are decreasing and decreasing in numbers. If it was happening to blacks I am sure some of us would promote keeping the black population big. Just wanting to keep your race isnt necessarily racist. I dont know if Pat is racist or not, but the facts above by themselves dont mean he is.
Totally missing the point "KeepitReal".
This article is not about asking the question is it racist to "big" up your own race(by the way it is totally racist when you are the dominant race in society and you do this) but it is instead about why a mainstream network news commentator is on a show, whose philosphy is antisemitic and racist, to promote his book and it not be an issue! That is a problem.
