Slow Business For Oprah Is Unbelievably Great Business For the Average Person

oprahtattoo.jpgShe canceled her own television show, Oprah's Big Give, based on poor ratings, the circulation of her magazine, O, has fallen by 10 percent over the past three years, and the audience for the Oprah Winfrey Show has fallen nearly 7 percent this year, and people are becoming increasingly skeptical about her forays into new-age spiritualism and politics. Is Oprah Winfrey on her way down? Blasphemy! Despite the drop in her show's ratings, her audience is still 1/3rd larger than the next most popular daytime talk show, Dr. Phil. Plus, people are still getting her face tattooed on their bodies. Oprah isn't going anywhere. [NYT]

Oprah will be just fine. These ratings are cyclical.

The numbers for just about every show — except maybe Dancing with the Stars are down.
I doubt this is the first time in the history of her show that she's had a ratings dip.

And the magazine business is rough anyway — people don't read anymore!

People also get Katt Williams tattooed on their body(bodies?), but I understand what you're saying…

Her ratings also went down during the heyday of Jerry Springer. Oprah's going to be fine.

i am a GUY. when i do see her show, it is usually good, entertaining. but if you are going to promote one presidential candidate you are automatically going against 40-45% your veiwers.
