Marijuana induces paranoia. If you feel that you need any more evidence to support that claim, read The Guardian's new interview with Snoop, in which he not only makes himself look like an ignorant wacko, but Barack Obama — whom he refers to as "that muthafucker" — also. (emphasis ours)
[Snoop] comes to life when I raise the subject of Barack Obama's recent speech on race.
"What did he say?" he asks …
"Well, he's having to disassociate himself from his pastor, who was criticised for saying, essentially, that America is built on racism."
"It is!" he screeches …
… "Right, but because he wants to be president he still has to disavow this confidant of 25 years," I say.
"Black America support him on that. By any means necessary. Get in that White House. Then once he get in, he can catch up to old relationships. 'Cos they looking for a loophole to make him not win." He almost looks at me, but then seems to think better of it as he whispers: "The KKK gave Obama money."
"Really?"
"YES." … "They was one of his biggest supporters."
"I've never heard that."
"YES. Why wouldn't they be? The media won't tell you that. They don't want you to know that. They just want you to know that this nigger befriended this other nigger who be threatening your values. But we all know all presidents lie to get into fucking office. That's they job."
…
"In America's eyes, that muthafucker's gonna be the president 'cos [John] McCain can't fuck with him. Hillary [Clinton] can't fuck with him. He's winning over white people, white ladies."I mention a recent survey that revealed older black women's reluctance to vote for Obama because they have a maternal fear that, if elected, he would be assassinated. Snoop sits up straight. "It's real! It's true shit. That's the White House. No niggers allowed!"
So what about Condoleeza Rice? … "They need us to manipulate and do the bad shit because we conversate and our colour is friendly with other peoples. This colour" - he traces a loving finger down his cheek - "is friendly with every country. That white colour" - he points at me - "ain't friendly. The white man be threatening the Indian. The white man be threatening the slaves. The white man be threatening the Australians." (I think he is talking about atrocities against the Aboriginal people.) "That face ain't to be trusted. That's why Condoleeza does all the conversatin' and all the chores around the world. Remember when Clinton was in office, he had the black dude move for him?" Vernon Jordan?
"Yeah, that nigger that covered up shit for him: 'Say you never had sex with that woman… '"
I ask why it is that Snoop doesn't address these strong political convictions in his music. "I feel it affect me, but I don't need to be crying and shit on my records."
Thanks for that, Snoop.
this was an unwanted contact high.
He's smokin some serious shit.
he's right. just like rev. wright.
That is some serious weed!!!
And rappers wonder why Oprah doesn't book them on her show.
holy cow! i'm speechless.
Whoa. Snoop… I never knew.
Huh, he saying what a lot of uneducated people are saying. But there sadness in all this about uneducated people who are not elequoent (and it's not the weed-that's in his system), is that when they speak-people switch off because they aren't making any sense.
But if you take the time to understand his train of though that's very reactionary-why does he sound crazy? The 'white man' did enslave the Aboriginals, and the Africans and the South American asians and the Polynasians… and the Indians in South East Asia…or some can say the Jews in a different extent…
I mean rice is a puppet…
The only thing that made me sigh was the KKK remark and the fact that he has poor sentence structure and delivery but hec, I was never brought up in the ghetto and went to a good school..so I'm lucky in that respect..
I'm real mad you didn't say anything about her asking him what her "market value" was.
He's better than DMX a few weeks ago- at least Snoop knows who Obama is!
Crazy comes in all colors, but how many people do you think buy what he's saying? Snoop's way too stoned to have come up with that alone. And do those people vote?
LOL
everybody pause…
my co-worker just broke this down:
snoop isn't shaming anyone except for the author of this bogus piece. that 'market value' comment tells you everything you need to know about the author's journalistic and personal character. it was clear that her intent was to try and show snoop as some oversexed, overhyped entertainer (anyone else uncomfortable with her usage of the 'er' of the n-word?), and she in turned got played, and dramatically so. you can sense that her editor sent her on this assignment with a "how outrageous is this Snoop guy?" pretense. like, how fly does she think she is that she dresses down so as to not be looked at sexually? come on now. why would she asked to be sized up? why would she then ACTUALLY stand up? snoop knew from the door how weak she was and that he would basically own this interview.
snoop is toying with her the entire article, and ultimately being himself - a genius.
Why the hell do Snoop's opinions matter in matters like this. Who does not know that Snoop always floats on balloon of cannabis smoke?
People who have always been at the wrong end of the stick take to believing in the worst case scenario of the society that keeps them down. It is protection of the soul. Don't get your hopes high and avoid getting your heart broken. That is the internal dialogue of much of Black America, brought most forcefully by those who created the cut and paste of Reverend Wright.
It speaks very highly of the state of America that it does not know that this is happening and does not understand why it is happening.
So, Snoop is free associating and spouting inner city conspiracy theories.
So What?
Snoop and his image, it was cute 13 years ago. But all of the fads done got old. He part ways know what he's thinking and I'm suprised he got to say what he did, because honestly we know who controls all of this so, he could never address what he wants to in his music, he can just spitout $#!t that effects the young people's minds not there inteligents. It's cool that we get to make some comments though. All through these years people still can't see that information don't hurt no body. It might shock them and they'll get over it. But if America can let loose with ignorance, then the truth can sometimes be a relief. Let loose and stop being so secretive America knoledge is power but power for your mind. It doesn't necsesary have to be dangerous power, just curious power. power of relief to know what's going on. We know by now America is strong enough to accept Anything, they just to scared to try it. Try the truth you might like it. God bless America!
It's been debunked months ago! SNOPES, Dogg! Snopes!
