Janet Jackson, looking simultaneously comfortable and uncomfortable, walked the red carpet at last night's LA launch of the Cartier Love bracelet. She was joined by Jermaine Dupri and many others, including Ashanti. Is it wrong to say she's been looking really good lately when it's a known fact that she starves herself to look this way? I mean, at least when stars pretend like they eat hamburgers (or healthy servings of fish, chicken and veggies) for every meal, we can pretend, too.
Ms. Janet needs to give up this look. From head to toe. Someone on the train said she's getting a reality show.
Kimora should have picked something looser on the bottom. It was looking good until I saw the thigh sticking out. Some Spanx would do the trick too. Same with E-V-E.
Eva Mendes is looking to be the next Kerry W, and by that, I mean red carpet queen. Unfortunately, Ms. Eva's clothes fall short.
Rosario - WTF?! No no baby. You can't leave the house looking homely like you just finished nursing your twins and threw a dress on after months of no sleep. Get it together. You were Mimi for crying out loud. If Nicole Richie came out looking like this, I'd say "she looks nice." After all, she has a child and has every right to look like a new celeb mom which is just like any new mom but without the weight.
The incredibly shrinking Nicole looks… bleh. Hate that dress.
And is Ashanti really slimmer? Yes, from a while back when she was in the "off-season" so to speak, but I thought she's been at this weight for a while now.
I disagree, I think Janet and Rosario look nice.
Spanx doesn't do a daggone thing for my thighs - never did and I'm a sample size six. When you have muscular thighs, they show *period* But I agree, that Rosario needed to put on a bra.
Janet's wig is nice - not as poodle-ish as she's usually wearing. Fergie looks sleepy.
But Common looks umm-umm good!!
If Janet were really starving herself, she wouldn't look as healthy as she does. She is obviously restricting what she eats and the amount she eats in order to maintain a slim form, but so does everyone who maintains a slim form (unless they have one of THOSE metabolisms).
I too have muscular thighs. The solution to not getting that clingy look is to pick a fabric and style that is better suited for that body type. Jersey and satiny fabrics don't work in their favor. Both Eve and Kimora look bigger than they are because of that thigh cling. It's not about masking your body like Janet. We all should know what works on our figure and what doesn't. I don't care what size or shape you are. There are things that simply will not work for your figure.
all this said, I tried on this sleeveless black jersey gown. From the front, it looked okay. From the back, it looked amazing. Without Spanx. I've been doing the Spanx thing for so long that I forgot that I look amazing from the back. The top half is… ahem… lacking a bit these days. It was a loose on top (it's supposed to be fitted) and fit my bottom half without clinging at all. The issue might just been the size. People never want to go up in size, even if it means the difference looking hot (after alterations) and looking kinda sloppy.
Ashanti is the one on the Bey diet.
I don't see the "thigh Problem" but Nicoles dress is UGLY and Janet's pants are ill fitting as they have been a few times. What's up with the crotch area? I'm trying to let the different fabrics and colors go..if only they fit!
The silhouette should be smooth and it looks like its clinging to their thighs. That's not how they were intended to fit.
I am kind of happy in a weird way that more stars are admitting that they starve or eat very low calorie diets to look the way that they do.
Eve's dress looks really nice but I don't like the way Kimora's dress fit.
@Chicnoir, yes, while it might increase the number of people starving themselves, at least women won't be wondering why they can't lose weight eating big macs like Heidi Klum, David Kirsch client. In case you're unaware, David Kirsch's plan is the most sadistic diet I've ever heard of. THAT is how you get back into model shape just weeks after giving birth.
