Rihanna Doubles As An Amateur Dermatologist

• First comes popping each others pimples, then comes marriage… [C&D]

• Will.i.am just hasn't been able to make it happen with this last CD. At least he made a hit song for Barack Obama. [SB]

• Nikki Blonsky, the star of Hairspray and Bianca Golden from the last season of America's Next Top Model got in a huge, random fight at the airport that ended with the arrest of Golden, Blonksy, and Blonsky's dad. Golden's mom was hospitalized. I'm so confused. [People]

• Rumor are has it Barbara Walters wants Sherri Shepherd off of The View. If it's true, it was only a matter of time. If it's not… it's only a matter of time. [Bossip]

Sherri Shepherd used some on-air time on The View today to address some of her quotes in a new issue of Precious Times, a black Christan women's magazine. Basically, she said she had more abortions than she could count (they left out part of the quote, she said) and that is she were Juanita Bynum should would be able to save Barbara Walters (a joke, she said). It was an awkward moment, even for The View.

Before finding Jesus (and moderate fame) Sherri Shepherd was a lax Jehovah's Witness with a dying mom and a crackhead sister and was sleeping with lots of guys and having "more abortions than [she] would like to count." Deep. I don't watch The View everyday, but I'm pretty sure she's never delved into that part of her past on the show. Instead, she spilled her guts to Precious Times, a black Christian women's magazine. She also talked about her dealing with coming under fire for some of her religious views — recall "nothing predates Jesus" — and how she would be able to save Barbara Walters… if she were only a televangelist!

Picture it, the women on The View are discussing the dreaded n-word. Whoopi Goldberg is explaining why black comedians use it and why they should be allowed to — she's very frustrated. Elisabeth Hasselbeck doesn't understand. She starts to cry and seems to make the argument that we can't move forward in race relations if black entertainers keep using the word. I roll my eyes. Barbara is uncomfortable and interrupts. If you can't picture it, check out the video after the jump.

starbarbara.jpgBarbara Walters' big tell-all interview with Oprah aired yesterday, and in addition to the already-talked-about affair with Sen. Edward Brooke, Walters spoke about the problems she had with the now-booted View hosts Rosie O'Donnell and Star Jones. Here's some of what she said about Star:

"She decided to have a gastric bypass operation, but then she decided not to tell anybody," Walters said on Tuesday's "Oprah." "Then we had to lie on the set every day because she said it was portion control and Pilates. Well, we knew it wasn't portion control and Pilates."

"Oh, hell no!" said Star said to herself when she saw the show (as I imagine it). She then pushed her toy poodle off her lap and ordered her publicist to prepare a statement. Here it is:

"It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters in the sunset of her life is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book. It speaks to her true character."

It's also a sad day when I agree with Star Jones.

Now that Star's had her say on the matter, there's nothing left to do, really, but find comfort in the arms of Dwyane Wade.

bwalters.jpgBarbara Walters openly discussed her affair with married senator, Edward Brooke, in the 1970s, but there's been no word on whether or not the now-88-year-old man knew that she was planning to out them. Based on the following quote, maybe not:

"I have had a lifetime policy and practice of not discussing my personal and private life, or the personal and private lives of others, with the notable exception of what I wrote in my recently published autobiography, `Bridging the Divide: My Life,'" he told The Associated Press.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post has the book, in which Walters wrote that Brooke often told her that she was the oldest woman he had ever been attracted to. She wrote that she always wanted to say, "Oh yeah? Well, you are the blackest man I have ever been with," in response. Thank god for internal censors.

Barbara Walters' admitted to Oprah in a show taped yesterday (and airing Tuesday) that she had a torrid love affair with Sen. Edward Brooke, who was the third black senator ever, in the 1970s. Although there have only been five in history (for shame America, for shame), I thought I would show them a little love below. And I've got to tell you, if there was one historical senator I would be inspired to pull a Barbara Walters on, it would have been Hiram Rhodes Revels. I like his beard. You guys thought I was going to say Barack Obama, didn't you?

Sen. Hiram Rhodes Revels, R-Miss. (1870-1871)Sen. Blanche Bruce, R-Miss. (1875-1881)Sen. Edward Brooke, R-Mass. (1967-1979)Sen. Carol Mosely Braun, D-Ill. (1993-1999)Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. (2005-Present)

Illicit Affairs

edbrooke.jpgOprah Winfrey always gets the goods. On a show that will air Tuesday, Barbara Walters cops to a years-long affair she had in the 1970s with the married Massachussetts senator Edward Brooke, who was the first African American senator elected by popular vote. Walters said she eventually broke it off because it would have ruined both of their careers.

When Oprah asked her if she was in love with Brooke, she said she was "infatuated… He was exciting. He was brilliant. It was exciting times in Washington." Translation — the sex was amazing. Brooke, who is 88, lives in Miami with his second wife. [BH]

Vanessa Williams was one of the four honored guests on Barbara Walter's annual Oscar night special last night, and she spoke with refreshing honesty about her beauty regimen. Instead of that idiotic "I eat anything I want and drink lots of water" lie she admitted she botoxes, has a food delivery service, and employs trainers on both coasts. She also talked to Barbara about her infamous Penthouse photos that cost her the Miss America crown she won in 1983. And she's really diplomatic about the Barack/Hillary question.

Sherri Shepherd — comedian, View guest host, and person-who-thinks-she-deserves-as-much-money-as-Whoopi — will now permanently join Barbara Walters and Co. in their 11th season.

"It's her!" a source tells PEOPLE, adding that Shepherd will appear on Monday's show for the highly anticipated announcement from co-host Barbara Walters.

Showbiz insiders have long suspected that Shepherd would link with new co-host Whoopi Goldberg alongside Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck for the 11th season of the weekday show.

It's pretty uninspired to have an all-black and white panel, but it's better than an all-white panel, I suppose. Following Whoopi's lead, Shepherd's first order of business will probably be to tell everyone to try to understand the culture of the DC snipers before you judge their crimes.

This week, Barbara Walters made it public — Whoopi Goldberg is in at The View. But why is Sherri Shepherd out, exactly? The rumor mill had the two comedians coming to the no longer white-washed show as a duo. Word on the street is Shepherd wanted the same salary as Whoopi, who is set to make $2 million. Isn't that kind of like Nick Cannon wanting the same payout for a comedy special as Chris Rock?

Shepherd's last gig was the not funny, not profitable Who's You Caddy. Now she has standards?
