At Least They're Not Dragging Out Michelle Obama's Kindergarten Assignments
• Call Bill O'Reilly! In Michelle Obama's 1985 senior thesis, she said the Princeton community at large didn't make her feel like she belonged. More proof she's unpatriotic! [CBS]

• Maybe Gary can smear a little bit of that I Can't Believe It's Not Butter he's shilling on his hands? [RL]
• Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher have teamed together to produce a brand new reality show that is sure to be like nothing you've ever seen before. "Variety reports that the show is understood to revolve around beautiful people living in a house together." [EW]
50 Cent, who tells Kay Slay in this video that he's not sure whether or not he should be offended because Bill O'Reilly called him a pinhead, defends the "controversial" statement he made ("America's not ready for a black president; they'll kill him!") prior to Super Tuesday. He explains Obama getting killed is the worst case scenario, disregarding the fact that getting killed is the worst case scenario for any president. Any person, for that matter. Also, I kept getting distracted by his teeth. They are so big and white and synthetic-looking. [XXL]
M-FER, LET ME TALK TO OBAMA Too bad Bill O'Reilly didn't learn any decorum lessons from all of those civilized Harlem restaurant patrons a few months back. He got in a tussle with one of Barack Obama's aides — one of Barack Obama's 6'8 aides — at a N.H. rally Saturday after he had trouble getting through the crowd to ask the candidate some questions. Witnesses say O'Reilly ordered the aide to move out of his way and pushed him. That's when Secret Service got involved. It's nice to see that Bill is doing his part, no matter how small, to help cinch this election for the Dems.
In a year that saw a young black girl being held captive, raped, and forced to eat animal feces while being pelted with racial slurs, the guys that follow certainly don't even come close to representing the most egregious or violent racism that occurred in the last 12 months. Instead, these high profile white guys represent a new era in American race relations, which are somehow ever-evolving and completely static at the same time. The veil of political correctness has been lifted to show that racial ignorance, ugly stereotypes, and, in some cases, hate, are alive, well, sometimes subtle, and, scariest of all, thriving. I believe race expert Bill O'Reilly put it best when he said, "Black people are finally starting to think for themselves." But this certainly wasn't what he had in mind.
Defense Department statistics show the number of young black enlistees has fallen by more than 58 percent since fiscal year 2000. The Army in particular has been hit hard: In fiscal year 2000, according to the Pentagon statistics, more than 42,000 black men and women applied to enlist; in fiscal year 2005, the most recent for which a racial breakdown is available, just over 17,000 signed up.
The unpopular Iraq war is the biggest reason, according to military analysts, Pentagon surveys, and interviews with young African-Americans. But they say mistrust of the Bush administration is adding to the problem - along with the notion that black soldiers are being steered to combat jobs, a lingering perception from the Vietnam War.
Disregarding the fact that this idiot has absolutely no idea that quite a few white people live in Harlem these days, and that, even if they didn't, Harlem would have more to offer than just drugs and prostitutes, this guy is a staunch Bill O'Reilly supporter. Obviously ol' Bill's heartwarming lesson on racial stereotypes didn't reach Mr. DePetro.
I wondered about this letter. I might have said all I needed to say to you in previous posts. And even that might have been too much. There's really no reasoning with an egotistical maniac liar who has made a career out of being a bully.
As I said yesterday in in a post about Diddy (not a gangster rapper, incidentally, but I'm sure you would call him that if given the opportunity), that most people don't get to a high level of success by being nice. In your case, you got to where you are by not really telling the truth and building a reputation as a belligerent curmudgeon who is hateful to anyone that dares disagree with you. CONTINUED »
Bill O'Reilly's mad as hell (but really, what's new?), feels unfairly targeted (but really, what's new?), and says his recent comments were taken out of context (you get the picture). What Media Matters, and later CNN, did, according to O'Reilly, was twist his well-meaning lesson on racial stereotypes into something ignorant and racially charged. CONTINUED »
As Long As Al Sharpton Conducts Himself As If He's In A Suburban Italian Restaurant, Things Will Be Fine
• Al Sharpton's going on The O'Reilly Factor tonight, presumably to discuss this. It's sure to be a productive show. [BV]
• It makes sense for Nike to make a shoe just for Native Americans, since they make Air Force Ones just for blacks. [MSNBC]
• An Egyptian antiquities expert says he doesn't know why some African Americans are all up in arms about King Tut's race, because, he says, Ancient Egyptians weren't black or Arab. [AFP]
I would have killed to have seen Al Sharpton and Bill O'Reilly dining together at Sylvia's Restaurant in Harlem recently. I could have done without O'Reilly's on-air description of his shocking restaurant experience.
Bill O'Reilly reported that he "had a great time, and all the people up there are tremendously respectful," adding: "I couldn't get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia's restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it's run by blacks, primarily black patronship."
Later, during a discussion with National Public Radio senior correspondent and Fox News contributor Juan Williams about the effect of rap on culture, O'Reilly asserted: "There wasn't one person in Sylvia's who was screaming, 'M-Fer, I want more iced tea.' You know, I mean, everybody was — it was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. And there wasn't any kind of craziness at all."
Now, I'm just guessing here, but it seems as if nerves are still a tad raw as a result of Bill O'Reilly's criticism of Nas's inclusion in the Virginia Tech concert lineup. But it was a success, Nas! Don't get too riled up! Don't threaten to remove parts of his face with your teeth! Oops, too late.
Whenever he wants a debate, I'll go through it. I know Bill O'Reilly's test scores. I know what he did, what he's trying to be … I'm a psycho. I'm an American psycho. [Addressing O'Reilly:] "Come to Queensbridge, [record your show] out there. Come to Jamaica, Queens [New York]. Do a show in Red Hook [Brooklyn, New York]." … I ain't got no time to talk to a uncivilized savage. This man will go through all kinds of extremes for publicity. I will tell him I'm an American psycho, I'm his worst nightmare. "They Shootin' " is just the beginning. CONTINUED »
For all the attention the media paid to Bill O'Reilly's stupid campaign against Nas performing at last night's Virginia Tech welcome concert, reporters certainly didn't have anything to say about his actual performance, except that he the audience stayed on their feet for his entire 20 minutes set and that he was wearing a special Hokies shirt. Sorry to disappoint, Bill.
Before the concert, Nas had this to say about Bill O'Reilly's misguided rage.
"He's a racist," Nas said. "Everybody has a marketing plan; his marketing plan is racism.
"He doesn't understand the younger generation. He deals with the past," Nas continued. "The people he represents are Republican, older, a generation that has nothing to do with the reality of what's happening now with my generation. … He's not really on my radar. People like him are supposed to be taught and people like me are supposed to let n—as like him know. I don't take him serious. His sh– is all about getting ratings or whatever. I wouldn't honor anything Bill O'Reilly has to say. It just shows you what bloodsuckers do: They abuse something like the Virginia Tech [tragedy] for show ratings. You can't talk to a person like that."
No, you really can't. But I'm sure he'll appreciate being called the n-word. He's gonna take that and run with it.
Much to his chagrin, I'm sure, Bill O'Reilly has failed in his attempt to kick Nas out of the Virginia Tech Back-to-School concert. He should be pleased to know, however, that at least one college administrator (albeit in Canada) that Nas is a violent, dangerous gangta rapper who will corrupt the minds of adult students at an upcoming Rock the Vote Concert. A vice-president at Ontario's Carlton University said their concert venue has a strict anti-hip hop policy for "security reasons."
The purpose of the Rock the Vote show is to encourage concertgoers to vote in an Oct. 10 election in Ontario.
In light of discussions that took place with the venue since July, Cockburn said the students were surprised by the centre’s decision to not hold the show and added that preliminary arrangements for security, lighting and sound were also made…Although they were told that their choice of musical act had to be cleared with the centre, Cockburn stated the students didn’t think they would have any problems with having Nas, since a hard rock band had played at the centre last September.
Nevertheless, the group said they were told that the rapper was the reason why they could not use the venue.
If only to save face, Bill O'Reilly, who probably had very little do so with this, is probably running a victory lap around the Fox News offices.
Why does Bill O'Reilly make me so mad when I know good and well he's a full-of-shit, sad, perverted, uninformed little man? I guess it's because I know that people out there listen to him and listen to him good, and they believe every stupid word that comes out of his mouth. That's why I kind of love that Jay Smooth has taken the time to make him look stupid for trying to boycott Nas (with a hard A).
