Bob Johnson has gone from calling Obama a drug addict at a rally to calling his victory in the Democratic nominee race as "greater than the Emancipation Proclamation." As full of compliments as he was on CNN, it was clear that he had a very specific agenda: lobbying to get Hillary Clinton the vice president spot. Lots of supporters have been taking to the airwaves to make this suggestion, although critics are saying that publicly strong-arming Obama into picking Clinton as his running mate will make him look terribly weak if he actually does pick her. Meanwhile, it seems that she and her more vocal supporters believe the vice presidency is owed to her. Why don't they just lay off and handle this behind the scenes? Meanwhile, Obama has appointed Caroline Kennedy, former Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder and "longtime Washington insider" Jim Johnson to committee that will vet a short list of VP candidates. |

In the same interview, he admitted that his vague statements last year about what Obama was doing "in the neighborhood" were a reference to Obama's admitted drug use and not his community organizing, as Johnson tried to convince an unbelieving public after his comments made the rounds. |

The Tyra & Hillary moment is here! It's no surprise that Hillary Clinton is on stage for a full minute before Tyra allows her to speak, and it was only because Hill interrupted. They spent the first part of the segment discussing Hillary's "vulnerability," which is certainly not something a male candidate would have been forced to talk about. On the other hand, this entire visit seems to be orchestrated as an appeal to female voters. So it fit. After the vulnerability bit, Tyra gets down to the heart of the election — "Do you wish Oprah was there for you?" The question was so stupid, because: a)The woman has Bob Johnson stumping for her and making an ass of himself, of course she does b) Who cares? Props for Hillary for basically saying that supporters are nice but they don't follow you into the Oval Office. Minus points for later countering, "Well, Maya Angelou's for me." All in all, is it more or less hard to watch than Obama's Tyra interview in October? Before you answer that, check out the infidelity Q&A after the jump. Preview: "Were you embarrased?" asks Tyra. "I would be embarrassed." CONTINUED » |
![]() Bob Johnson has finally apologized for the quote heard 'round the world. If you don't remember, it went a little something like this:
Although Johnson claimed that he was referring to Obama's community-organizing, no one except for the most die hard of Hillary Clinton (or Bob Johnson) optimists actually believed that he wasn't referring to Obama's documented drug use. Since the "explain-it-away" tactic not only didn't work, but garnered even more criticism, the BET founder issued this apology yesterday.
Apparently, Obama has accepted. And now Bob Johnson should stay the hell off of the microphone at campaign rallies. [CNN] |
