» DMX Does Himself No Favors

From CBS4 Miami: "Rap star DMX didn't make any friends in a Miami courtroom Tuesday morning when he quietly lashed out at the judge who denied him bond. DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, called the judge an expletive when Judge Lawrence Schwartz ruled against bond. 'Oh that just ingratiated you to me. I've never heard the "f' word before so it's okay,' was the response from Judge Schwartz."

It's been a year for DMX. He recently was arrested for the sixth time since May, and he is clearly addicted to one or more illegal substances. He needs help, and he and the people around him have put their heads together and come up with a brilliant solution to his legal and addiction problems. The celebrity salve of the 21st century: reality television! That's right, hip hop's current trainwreck will be starring in a reality show — his second — called DMX: This Life of Mine.

The show will follow DMX’s attempt to resolve a string of legal problems, which include six arrests since May of 2008, the most recent one occurring last week in Miami, Florida.

This Life of Mine
will also feature DMX attempting to rehabilitate to himself, as he simultaneously attempts to avoid being sent to prison for pending charges of possessing drug paraphernalia, possessing marijuana, animal cruelty charges and theft, for allegedly giving a fake name when he was treated at a Scottsdale hospital earlier this year.

Now, if Amy Winehouse would just follow in DMX's footsteps and let television cameras to trail her all day, we'd be on the road to a drug- and crime-free music industry. [AHH]

» DMX, Arrested For The Sixth Time

DMX is in police custody for the sixth time this year after getting arrested outside of a Miami Wal-mart. The arrest was a result of a skipped court date in Phoenix. His lawyer said he had been trying to check into rehab in Miami. The last time he was arrested in Miami (in June), it was for trying to buy coke from an undercover officer.[AHH]

Who Needs Help?

Wherein you, the readers, talk amongst yourselves.

It's hard to watch celebrities like DMX fall off the deep end, and you've got to wonder why someone in their lives hasn't successfully intervened. If you could send a celebrity or famous person to rehab (or a psychiatric hospital), who would it be?

» DMX Spirals Further Downward

An Arizona judge issued a bench warrant for the Phoenix area's resident celebrity crackhead, DMX. Unsurprisingly, DMX failed to appear in court for a pretrial conference on four counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of marijuana. This particular case is one of many cases ranging from drugs to animal cruelty to traffic violations that the rapper is currently facing.

Dedication

Not even when a recording artist is undergoing the most trying personal crises do they forget that their job, first and foremost, is to sell records. This is why after his arraignment in Arizona yesterday, the multiple arrestee DMX turned the focus from his arrest to his new album, Walk With Me Now, And You'll Fly With Me Later, which he touted to the press. According to E!, he also offered this bit of advice: "If you ever fall down, get back up!" Although, you've got to wonder how a guy who has been arrested five times in one year is interpreting that statement.

» Somebody Get DMX Some Help

For what seems like the 800th time this year, rapper DMX was arrested Saturday at a mall in Phoenix for using a fake ID at a Scottsdale Mayo Clinic a few months ago. He's being charged with identity theft and theft of service — officials say he was trying to get out of paying $7500 in medical bills. He's being held on $60,000 bond. [MTV]

He was returning from a jaunt to Miami, where he had been arrested for trying to buy cocaine and marijuana from an undercover officer. No More Partying Up

He threatened us nine years ago, and we didn't believe. And now DMX really has lost his mind and is acting a fool up in here.

dmxmug.jpgDMX was arrested a week ago for driving with a suspended license. Last month he was arrested for reckless driving, drugs, and animal cruelty. Last year he was arrested on other animal cruelty charges. And guess what happened over the weekend? DMX got arrested again! This time, he was trying to buy coke and marijuana from an undercover officer in Miami. Not that we're counting, but there have been four arrests since May 7th. Is it time for him to go to jail yet? dmxmug.jpgDMXed After an arrest Wednesday for reckless driving, DMX was arrested again early Friday morning on drug and animal cruelty charges. When police showed up at his Arizona home, he tried to barricade himself in his bedroom.

He faces seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty (animal control removed five pitbull mix puppies from his home; in August 12 dogs were seized from his home after a raid) and four felony drug counts. [CNN]

SIT DOWN, DMX. JUST SIT DOWN. DMX was arrested at his Arizona home yesterday after traffic cameras on a suburban Phoenix freeway caught his bright yellow, 1966 Chevrolet (with a big DMX decal on the windshield) on three separate occasions going 100, 101 and 114 mph in a 65 mph zone. His lawyer said he had no comment, but we can probably guess his defense: "It wasn't me!" [SP]
