• New Jersey cops? They don't shoot much at white people. ![]() Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long posed on the red carpet for a party in honor of the Essence cover they posed for together. Gabrielle Union, who also graces the cover, isn't pictured. I could speculate where she is, but she doesn't like that sort of thing. Pics from the Essence party after the jump. CONTINUED » |

Kanye West had to bow out of performing at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in LA last night for obvious reasons, but never fear! The Spice Girls, who look mostly the same, although the majority of them have gotten way, way skinnier, were on hand to lend their peforming services. This may or may not have been disastrous. I'll need to check it out when it airs. I'll give it to Victoria's Secret. With Jessica White, Selita Ebanks, and Noemie Lenoir stomping down the catwalk, they've got one up on most designers that show during fashion week. Three black models don't exactly make an army (although there could have been more that weren't pictured), but still. More pics — the men should like these — after the jump. CONTINUED » |
![]() Sanaa Lathan, Gabrielle Union, and Nia Long are on the cover of the next month's Essence, and guess what? They don't like blogs too much. Especially black blogs. Run by black women. Hmph. CONTINUED » |
![]() This holiday season, the theaters will be showing not one, but two Christmas movies with all-black casts. No, they're not Tyler Perry productions. No, they don't look particularly wonderful, but they are nice family films filled with brown faces. An alternative to American Gangster for the kiddies, if you will. Check out the trailer for The Perfect Holiday, starring Gabrielle Union opposite Morris Chestnut (an age-appropriate love-interest), above. The Chris Brown, Regina King, and Idris Elba (!) movie This Christmas will also be in theaters next month. This post has put me in a very premature Christmas-y mood. Great, now I'll be humming Donny Hathaway for the rest of the day. [BV] |

Now whether Evan Ross and Gabrielle Union are really just pals or actually dating (I believe the former), what on earth does a 35-year-old woman have to talk about with a 19-year-old boy? Why are they making appearances together? She's old enough to be his teenage mom. [NYDN] |

On second thought, T.P. probably likes women who don't like him, just because they won't try to have sex with him and break his celibacy vow. I just figured it all out! [NYDN] |
![]() Yeah, It's a stretch
Partly because it's kind of the best song ever and partly in celebration of Gabrielle Union (reportedly) doing her thing "Like A Boy" these days with Ludacris and Hill Harper, I bring you Adina Howard's "Freak Like Me." While Harvard grad Hill Harper can't really be described as a "rough neck brother," I doubt Gabrielle Union is anything like Adina Howard, so it works out well. Alright, so I just wanted to find a reason to play the song. But does one really need a reason for some Thursday morning Adina Howard? |

I love how a certain set of black actresses, including Gabrielle Union, Regina Hall, Sanaa Lathan and Essence Atkins, always roll to events together and look so close knit in all their photos. Most of them showed up to Lucky Magazine's Foley + Corinna event last night. It's nice to see black women who could be competing against each other and hating become good friends instead. They probably bond over their inability to find any good roles. More pics afer the jump. CONTINUED » |

Or Was It Just Too Controversial?

Out of the 100 hottest famous women out there, hardly any of them are black, says Maxim's Hot 100 list. With Rihanna in the top 10 at #8, Beyonce at 13, Halle Berry at 55, Jessica White at 60, Gabrielle Union at 67, and Ciara at 72, we're owning just 6 percent of Hollywood's hotness. According to Maxim, that is. And what do some horny boys with way too much time on their hands know, anyway? Check out the full list after the jump. |

Las Vegas Debauchery, Kentucky Ridiculousness, and the Premiere of Shrek the Third
The vast majority of the pictures from the Tao Beach Grand Opening festivities in Vegas over the weekend are pretty ridiculous, and the one above says it all. It screams we're-rich-and-powerful-and-drunk-and-our-girlfriends-aren't-here, doesn't it? I couldn't justify giving the photo of the two of them holding stacks of cash (I'm serious) the place of prominence in the post, but check it and others from the weekend out after the jump.
