As cocky as Kanye West might be, he certainly is putting in the promotional work with performances at parties from coast to coast. He's getting paid, of course. But still. Last night he graced the Sidekick LX launch party with his musical stylings, no doubt rocking the crowd of semi-famous people. More pics from the party after the jump. And dare I say Nick Cannon seems a bit lackluster? He must not be taking his fake breakup from his fake fiancee very well.

I've already told you guys how much I love black actress bonding. What I don't love are those weird '50s pin-up bangs Taraji Henson's sporting these days or Kerry Washington's roots. The talented ladies, who are pretty anyway, hugged it out last night at an LA Confidential magazine party and mingled with Keisha Whitaker, Beverly Johnson, Eric Benet, and others.

More after the jump.

Men's fashion at an award show such as this is harder to judge, because many of the attendees arrive in the same clothes they would wear to the grocery store, the club, or the annual pimp convention — none of which are good looks. Don Cheadle, who won the humanitarian award for his work in Darfur, looks pretty dapper (and he gave a great acceptance speech). I can't say the same for all of the guys in attendance. See for yourself after the jump.

When a celeb volunteers to publicly swab the inside of their cheek (it's not pretty, see Regina King after the jump) in front of flashing cameras, you know they must really care about HIV awareness in the black community. A handful of black actors and actresses, like (the other) Vanessa Williams, Henry Simmons, and that chick from Borat, got tested to bring attention to HIV Awareness Day. More pics after the jump.

"A Time For Heroes" Sponsored by Disney to Benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

Because the big and small screen celebrities wanted to have something to do while the serious thespians (and Usher — not sure where he fits in) were at the Tony Awards in NYC, and because attending AIDS benefits is just the right thing to do, a bunch of celebrities and their kids showed up at the Disney-sponsored "A Time For Heroes Carnival" benefit for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. That's Blair Underwood with his son, Paris, above. Below, check out a bunch of celebs in their weekend casual-wear.

With his basketball season over, Kobe Bryant spent some quality time with his wife Vanessa and oldest daughter, Natalia, at the premiere of the third installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, a movie sure to knock Shrek off of its box office pedestal as soon as it opens in theaters. Check out more pictures of the happy family and other movie-goers, a group that randomly includes Mark "Hanging With Mr. Cooper" Curry, below.
