» Nothing Racist About Movie Star Arrests, Say Cops

The Shreveport, Louisiana, Police Department is defending the officers involved in the late-night arrest of Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright last weekend. According to reports, cops tasered and pepper-sprayed the two actors when they were not resisting arrest and hurled racial slurs at Wright. The PD says none of this happened. I don't think I'll be giving the cops the benefit of the doubt on this one. How about you? [EUR]

Police Brutality

wright.jpgAs more and more details of the weekend arrest of actors Jeffrey Wright and Josh Brolin outside of a bar in Shreveport, La., where they are filming the G.W. Bush biopic W, come out, the story becomes more and more horrifying. The fight started when some "good ol' boys" at the bar found out that the actors and crew were responsible for a Bush biopic with a liberal bent, and Wright joined in when racial slurs came into the mix. Apparently, once the police arrived, they also let loose with a racist tirade against Wright. Much of it is was caught on a cell phone camera, according to TMZ.

That scuffle with Shreveport, Louisiana locals and police officers that resulted in the arrests of Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright and several others associated with the film W? Turns out it began after a good ol’ Looziana boy hurled a racial slur at Wright.

» Not The Wright Stuff

Jeffrey Wright, aka Basquiat, Martin Luther King, Jr., Tony-winning thespian, etc., was arrested along with his W costar Josh Brolin and several crew members after a bar fight in Shreveport, La. The men are in town shooting the Oliver Stone-directed George W. Bush biopic (Brolin's W, Wright is Colin Powell). Apparently, they all interfered with the arrest of a disorderly crew member. Wouldn't we all like to see the actual G.W. in jail? [CBS]
