» Naomi Campbell and Post-9-11 Air Travel
Finally, we get down to the real reason why Naomi Campbell and British Airways don't mix. 9-11 (and golliwogs, of course). "I think after 9/11 you can't say anything anymore on a plane. I've flown British Airways for years, since I was a child," she said. "The stewardesses will tell you that I would get on a plane, put on the blanket and go to sleep. I'll never fly that airline again, but nothing's really lost. I did get my luggage. I was reunited with my YSL, and everything was cool." As long as the YSL is safe. [SP] |

» Naomi Campbell Begins Serving The Community… Again
Trouble-causing Naomi Campbell started serving the community service that was part of her sentence for spitting on cops at Heathrow Airport earlier this year. She'll be working in a homeless shelter in London. An "unnamed employee" of the shelterhad a bit to say about the new, famous worker: "The Whitechapel Mission has been dealing with probationers for 130 years and throughout that time every single one of them has been treated exactly the same. She will be working with some of the most needy people in the capital. So she is not going to be given an easy ride or treated as a special case. And she will not be allowed to parade the streets in an orange vest to please photographers like she did in America." [MC] |

» The Pitter Patter Of Little Campbell Feet?
Naomi Campbell underwent a mystery operation in Brazil in March, and she recently revealed that the surgery was to correct her infertility. Campbell, who is currently dating a Russian billionaire, told People, "I was not able to have children up until March. Now it's in God's hands. I would love to have a family." |

» That's What Friends Are For
Naomi Campbell recently told an interviewer that she can always count on Victoria Beckham to be by her side whenever she throws temper tantrums and is subsequently charged with various criminal acts. "When I was going through my hard time recently she was immediately on the phone, asking me how I was doing and saying, 'I hope you're well,'" Campbell said of Beckham. "She was very sweet. I speak to Victoria pretty regularly about normal, mundane stuff. We share girl stuff and she is so funny - people just don't know her or get her." Everyone needs a solid-if-bony shoulder to lean on after being punished for highly-publicized, thoroughly unnecessary criminal behavior. [SP] |

This Might Be A Better Punishment Than Community Service
"But people were disappointed by what happened - in the past she had spoken to Mandela about her anger - notwithstanding the fact that she was wearing the charity baseball cap when she was arrested. It's not the behaviour of a charity ambassador," said a source. "Mandela would have had a say. It's fair to say he was behind the decision. There's an aspect of him being upset by the whole situation. For the board of directors of his charity it's not the best role model for them to have." Blackberries and spit will fly when Naomi hears this news. [PA] |

British Airways has developed quite a nasty reputation as a result of several racially charged incidents. Naomi Campbell either knew about this reputation and chose to exploit it to make her airport temper tantrum seem less ridiculous or a BA employee on the plane really did call her a "Golliwog Supermodel", which doesn't actually explain why she then spit on some airport cops. Maybe she'll spend some time thinking that over during her court-ordered community service. But probably not. |

NAOMI, SENTENCED. Beware, community. Naomi Campbell will be servicing you. The angry model was sentenced this afternoon to 200 hours of community service and a fine of $4,500 for spitting on cops and causing an unnecessary scene at Heathrow Airport earlier this year. Perhaps Vogue or Elle will get the opportunity to capitalize off of her bad behavior this time. W already got its chance. |

There were originally six charges, but the Crown Prosecution Service generously decided not to pursue the last two. They said in a statement, "Ms. Campbell was aggressive, hostile and violent to people who were simply trying to do their jobs. Her behaviour fell far short of what is acceptable." She's supposed to be sentenced later today. |
