» Karate, Kid
It turns out all of those rumors about Jaden Smith starring in a remake of the Karate Kid — you know, the ones that Will Smith's rep denied were true — were… true. From Variety: "Columbia Pictures is back in the dojo with a new version of the 1984 hit "The Karate Kid," which has been refashioned as a star vehicle for Jaden Smith… The script is being written by Chris Murphy, and the film will shoot next year in Beijing and other cities. While the new film will be set in that exotic locale, it will borrow elements of the original plot, wherein a bullied youth learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor… The younger Smith, who next stars in "The Day the Earth Stood Still," is a martial arts practitioner." |

"He was acting just like me," he told MTV. Now that he has his Hollywood star, Diddy's finally able to wrap his head around this whole acting thing. |

Is intolerance of interracial relationships the theme of the month? Check out the new trailer for the Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington thriller, Lakeview Terrace, about a cop who doesn't like it when a black woman and her white husband move into the neighborhood. As much as I love Kerry W., I think I'll probably wait until this comes on HBO. |
