Big Things Poppin'
T.I. has proven this week that his delusions of grandeur aren't so much delusions as valid feelings, hasn't he? His multiple personality disorder-inspired album, T.I. vs T.I.P. debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after selling 468,000 in his opening week. Ms. Kelly (Rowland) didn't fare as well in her opening week, but with 82,000 sold and a No. 6 position on the charts, she did better than her solo debut in 2002, when her album, Simply Deep, peaked at No. 12. After the jump, the top 10. CONTINUED » |
![]() Embarrassing
When a 14-year-old whose father is responsible for the "Achy Breaky Heart" debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, all of the artists in her wake should be ashamed. Especially Kelly Clarkson. Miley Cyrus and Kelly Clarkson's albums bumped any semblance of color out of the top 5 percent of the Billboard 200, but T-Pain was close behind at No. 11, followed by Rihanna at 14, R.Kelly at 15, and Fabolous at 17. More after the jump. CONTINUED » |
![]() Lost Ones
Either way, Chrisette Michele did not even come close to knocking it out of the park with her debut CD, I Am. Instead, we have a bunch of the usual suspects in the top spots of the Billboard 200, including T-Pain at No. 10, Fabolous at No. 9, and the resilient (both of body and of record sales) Amy Winehouse. Check out the stats after the jump. CONTINUED » |
![]() Bye bye, T-Pain. You too, Rihanna. There's a new chart topper in town, and his name is Toby Keith. Unfortunately for Fabolous, his album, From Nothin' to Somthin was released the same week as a country super star's, and he ended up debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200 with 159,000 albums sold. T-Pain and Rihanna's reign at the top was short and sweet — they ended up at #5 and #7 respectively. Check out the rest of the top 10 here. |
![]() Painful Loss For Rihanna
Really? I guess a lot of shawtys are in the market for dranks these days. The Florida "singer" sold 171,000 to Rihanna's 162,000. Paul McCartney rounded out the top three to boot R.Kelly's invincible ass down to fourth place. Still, he sold 121,000. Check out the top 10 albums after the jump. CONTINUED » |

![]() A TGT Appetizer
I couldn't sing you a Tank song that's not "I Deserve," but apparently the people behind TGT were onto something here with the Shirts Off Tour. The (initial) success of the album should drive up ticket sales, although Tyrese and Ginuwine are probably pissed that they didn't think of the album name Sex, Love & Pain first. CONTINUED » |

![]() is hip hop feeling the pain?
Bucky Covington, Chris Daughtry, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood are all crowding the top 10 with their American Idol resumes southern twangs. In other words, not too many brown faces on the Billboards this week, guys! Could it be that the perceived backlash against hip hop that we've been dealing with since the Don Imus scandal broke is, gulp, real? Actually, if that were the case, Akon would not still be secure at #6 in his 23rd week on the charts when all of Trinidad wants his head on a platter. Still, I wonder. And then there's Timbaland's Shock Value at #10. When the hip hop haters get a load of this, Tim's ass will be grass. Once that happens, expect Justin Timberlake to gingerly remove himself from the situation and come away unscathed, wardrobe malfunction-style. |
