Francisco Costa, Tom Ford, and Tory Burch were big winners at last night's CFDA awards, but a post about the event would not be thorough if I didn't mention Naomi Campbell, in pants that look are I Dream of Jeanie meets MC Hammer meets a bedazzler, and Andre Leon Talley, who is wearing…what he's wearing (are those peep-toes?!?). Those scene-stealers!

One of the most glamorous annual events in New York City, the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was held last night. As usual, the stars showed up to the party — this year's theme was "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" — in all of their designer finery, and as usual, some gowns were finer than others. Loads more pics after the jump.

Jada Pinkett, with hubby Will Smith, was one of the honorees at Essence's first annual Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon in Beverly Hills yesterday. And were there's Will and Jada, there's…you guessed it, TomKat. Kerry Washington, a not-pregnant-looking Paula Patton, Gabby Union, Star Jones, and plenty of others were also in attendance. Check 'em out after the jump.

Paula Patton's pregnant! It's totally unconfirmed but from the looks of these pics from the 40/40 grand opening in Vegas Sunday, it's either that or a really unflattering dress. Or maybe certain blind items about her husband are causing her to seek comfort in ice cream and cake. I'm going with pregnant.

It's Legal

loving_pattonthicke.jpg

As I informed you earlier, today is the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Loving vs. Virginia, which officially legalized interracial unions. A group of overly sentimental people have dubbed this day Loving Day, during which we are all supposed to celebrate our legal right to love and marry whoever we want (as long as they're of the opposite sex). Here is a smattering of some famous interracial couples, starting with two of my favorites, Paula Patton and Robin Thicke.

eve.jpg
Yesterday, Eve sat down with blogger/journalist Clay Cane to discuss rumors of her sexuality, interracial dating, her recent arrest and her take on Barack vs. Hillary. I'll forgive Cane for not knowing that Paula Patton is black, because he really got Eve to open up.

To give you a short summary, she brushes lesbian rumors off but has nothing but love for her gay and lesbian fans. A gay man will never succeed in hip hop. She is an Obama fan, but because of his humanity, not his race. Don Imus doesn't ride around listening to Snoop, so he shouldn't point a finger at hip hop. If women don't like being objectified in hip hop videos, then women should stop appearing in them. Maya Angelou is making her rethink the n-word. Sean Penn is a good, platonic friend of hers. Finally, despite Eve's recent DUI arrest, Paris Hilton's jail sentence doesn't scare her because Paris Hilton "did something wrong."

I find all of this interesting and valid except for her last point, which is kind of wrought with denial, don't you think?

"Poiret: King of Fashion" Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art

poiretjennifer-hudson.jpg

The annual Costume Institute gala was held in NYC last night, and many of our brightest stars came out, although I'm not sure why some were invited. I've been missing the glamorous, evening gown version of Jennifer Hudson since awards season ended, so I'm thrilled to see her in formal mode.

LOVE, Fashion, and Hair

louisvuittonserena.jpg

Wonders never cease! Serena Williams made her second good fashion choice of the decade at the Louis Vuitton Party of LOVE in New York City last night. And if she's ever in danger of a relapse, The Fashion Bomb has some tips to help halt her downward spiral. I think our Serena's gonna be okay!

Take a look at some other great (and questionable) fashion statements from last night's parties after the jump.
