KIDS THESE DAYS "A Yale student who claims she artificially inseminated herself 'as often as possible' and then took drugs to induce miscarriages for her senior art project says she will showcase the stomach-turning display next week — complete with her own blood samples and videos from the terminated possible pregnancies." |

• Little black girls can't catch a break in political cartoons these days. [E&P] • And here's where the NAACP and black ministers veer off in wildly different directions. [BT] • Not that I think it's necessarily a good thing for venues to ban certain genres of music, but it is nice to see metal instead of hip hop get it for a change. [BH] • Kanye West is apparently self-absorbed in his new songs. And they say art imitates life! [CD] |

This is the political cartoon that got Florida Times Union cartoonist Ed Gamble in trouble. His editor has said that maybe he shouldn't have allowed the use the word "ho," but Gamble maintains he used it to show that rap is demeaning to women. The cartoon in general was inspired by the now notorious 60 Minutes segment starring Cam'ron, who advocated not snitching even when there's a serial killer living next door. Ignorance inspires ignorance. Thanks, Cam. [AHH] |
