Hard Pills To Swallow?

  • As it turns out, marketing drugs directly to African Americans backfires for pharmaceutical companies when it turns out that said drugs cause heart attacks.
  • Racism has little to do with why black women are less likely to get mammograms (and more likely to die from breast cancer. I'm not sure why this matters.
  • Denial may have something to do with why black women don't get mammograms. It sure has a lot to do with black men and prostate cancer. They are known to highly underestimate the likelihood that a biopsy will result in a prostate cancer diagnosis.
  • Got polycystic ovary syndrome? I bet you have fibroids, too.
