The trailer for Will Smith's latest Oscar bait film, Seven Pounds is out. The movie's about an IRS agent (Smith) who knows a secret that will affect the lives of seven strangers. Also starring: Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, and Conner Cruise (son of Tom) as a younger version of Smith's character. [SF]

Kerry Washington put on her best ladies-who-lunch dress for a celeb-studded Glamour party yesterday. In case you were looking for an update, Kerry recently did a political-themed fashion spread (or a fashion-themed political spread) for the New York Times Magazine. Also, Naomi Campbell had to pull out of Spike Lee's historical drama, The Miracle at St. Anna, and guess which better-qualified actress has taken her place?

Back to the Glamour luncheon: more pics after the jump.

And Tyra Comes!

cnn_tyra.jpg

Tyra Banks has a nice look of calmness and serenity about her when barely legal male pop stars aren't whipping her up into a hormonal frenzy, doesn't she? Ever the do-gooder, Tyra Banks attended last night's gala in honor of CNN's "real heroes," ordinary people — read: not Angelina Jolie or Bill Clinton — who do extraordinary things to help others. Read about them and see more pics from the event after the jump.

On their way to Kanye West's various birthday parties last night, Usher and Rihanna stopped at an event for Cartier's LoveCharity bracelets, 18k white gold bracelets with different colored accents to represent various charities. Here's more information if you're interested, and check out more pics from the party below. Pay particular attention to how happy Rachel Roy looks to be with Damon Dash.

P.S. Why does Rihanna look like a mannequin sometimes?

Because you're probably tired of me mentioning it — but mainly because it ended this weekend — this is our last Cannes Film Festival post until about this time next year. The festival, which is half about movies and half about celebrites, including non-movie stars (meaning Naomi Campbell), hanging out on the Riviera, wearing couture, and going to lots of fun parties. They live a lifestyle most of us could never imagine, but, to even things out, we can judge all of their red carpet fashion choices. Anyone who wears a dress made out of feathers is just asking for it.

Don Cheadle, in France to debut Oceans 13 along with the rest of his all-star castmates, took a break from the nonstop party to attend the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit along with the lovely ladies below. Earlier in the day yesterday, Cheadle and his Oceans 13 co-stars also raised $9.2 million for Darfur at a separate event. Cannes isn't just about the movies.

The Cannes Film Festival, the most well-known, prestigious, and posh international movie biz event, started a week ago. I've waited so long to post pics because, beyond hundreds of photos of (my girl crush) Kerry Washington looking impossibly glamorous (see above), the party has been a little light on revelers of the brown-skinned variety. Check out the few Americans (and one obnoxious Brit) working tirelessly to add some color to Cannes.

"Poiret: King of Fashion" Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art

poiretjennifer-hudson.jpg

The annual Costume Institute gala was held in NYC last night, and many of our brightest stars came out, although I'm not sure why some were invited. I've been missing the glamorous, evening gown version of Jennifer Hudson since awards season ended, so I'm thrilled to see her in formal mode.
