INDIA.ARIE HOPES SATC SONG WILL TAKE HER TO THE NEXT LEVEL India.Arie has high hopes for her new single, which has a coveted place on the The Sex and the City soundtrack. Her cover of Don Henley's "Heart of the Matter" isn't exactly new, but she said Universal did nothing with it when it came out two years ago. "So Universal is going back to radio with it and starting all over," India told me. "Hopefully this time it will work."[Fox] |

The Movie
Anthony Lane’s absolutely eviscerating New Yorker review of SATCTM reveals one rather glaring affront on the diversity that makes “the City” so damn great for those of us largely uninterested in its boutiques. |

• Star Jones has now resorted to hosting Bad Girls Club reunion specials. At least she's good at it. [Jezebel] • Whitney Houston was cleared of all drug charges stemming from that one time she tried to bring three joints on a plane in Hawaii. [SP] • New music from Michael Jackson! Sadly, there's no way to make old music from Michael Jackson new again. [Bossip] • Ashanti made some ill-advised makeup choices at the premiere of the new Indiana Jones. [C&D] |

It's the moment women and gays the world over have been waiting for — the Sex and the City trailer has arrived! Unfortunately, it's obvious that Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson does not have a big enough part to make it into the preview. |

I really didn't think they had it in them. Here's the great news: the Sex and the City big screen adaptation won't be as white-washed as the series.
Not so great news: When rabid SATC fans go see this movie, will they really be checking for J.Hud? To take it one step further, is anyone really, truly excited about this movie? The era kind of ended with the last episode — what more is there to say? All I know is, Jennifer better Sarah-Jessica-Parker her contract (and include a no-bolero clause) so that she can keep all the clothes. [Variety] |
