It's a sad day when the fashion at the Apollo Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is better than the fashion at the CFDA Awards. Okay, that's lie. But Ruby Dee always looks so sharp, doesn't she? Smokey Robinson was inducted into the hall of fame at last night's ceremony, and Denzel and Pauletta Washington received the Ruby Dee & Ossie Davis Arts and Humanitarian Award. Smokey Robinson's "Tracks of My Tears" is my favorite Motown song ever. Hands down. Well, that might be taking it too far. But it's up there. When you watch the performance, please, please, please pay close attention to the fancy-yet-awkward-and-lackluster footwork of the Miracles.

Has Terrence Howard finally found that non-promiscuous woman who has baby wipes on display in her bathroom and won't seduce him into breaking his vow of celibacy? He attended the Kennedy Center Honors last night with Zulay Henao, a Colombian-American actress with whom he is filming a probable-stinker called Fighting. Recently, there have also been rumors that Zulay was dating Nick Cannon. This chick sure can pick 'em.

And a movie?
For television. My autobiography, From These Roots. Hopefully it will happen early spring. I have verbal commitments from Billy Dee [Williams] to play my father, and Terrence Howard to play Smokey Robinson.

Who'll play you?
I'm not sure yet. Jennifer Hudson came to read for me. I also have an interest in Halle Berry possibly doing it. And Fantasia.

I mean no disR-E-S-P-E-C-T, but Halle Berry is pregnant and less than physically or vocally suited for Aretha's movie needs. Team J-Hud. On the less critical end, I can honestly think of no one who would be a better Smokey Robinson than the toilet paper bandit.

I watched enough of last night's American Idol finale show to see a cringeworthy Blake Lewis try to keep up with Doug E. Fresh and look into Smokey Robinson's (kinda creepy) eyes as he sang Motown greats with the all the male losers, but I had to change the channel before Jordin Sparks' winning moment. On the scales of television importance, the season finale of Lost weighs about 100 lbs more than American Idol. But hey, I can relive the night in pictures, right?
