• Everyone on The View will be happy when this election is over and Elisabeth Hasselbeck shuts up about William Ayers and Rev. Wright already. [MG] • This episode of the Tyra Show could really not be more disturbing. [D-Listed] • You might not know this, but the election is all about Diddy. Also, it's his birthday. [MTV] • Ten reasons why you should ignore exit polls. [538] • What happens when you love Obama… but can't vote. [Afrobella] |

The View hosts got in the election spirit today, and each of them dressed up as a past POTUS. It should come as no surprise that Elisabeth Hasselbeck chose Ronald Reagan. |

» Hasselbeck Stays
Bad news for Hasselbeck-haters: the rumors that Elisabeth Hasselbeck, The View's lone Republican voice, was leaving the show for more conservative pastures at Fox News, are not true. "While Elisabeth [Hasselbeck] has a great relationship with Fox News, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she is leaving The View," her agent said in a statement on Thursday. "Elisabeth is passionate in her beliefs and enjoys being a part of this dynamic group of women and engaging in daily conversations." If Barack Obama stays up in the polls, all Joy and Whoopi have to do is stick it out until the November 4th… [Us] |

» John McCain's Bad Morning
Andrew Sullivan thinks John McCain's interview on The View today destroyed his candidacy. I certainly wouldn't go that far, but, even with the hosts allowing him to blatantly lie about the sex ed and lipstick controversies his campaign created, it was probably one of the toughest interviews he's had this entire campaign. Discussing your opposition to Roe v. Wade in front of that show's NYC audience is never a good idea. He probably punched a wall backstage when it was all over. Watch some snippets here. |

• Will.i.am just hasn't been able to make it happen with this last CD. At least he made a hit song for Barack Obama. [SB] • Nikki Blonsky, the star of Hairspray and Bianca Golden from the last season of America's Next Top Model got in a huge, random fight at the airport that ended with the arrest of Golden, Blonksy, and Blonsky's dad. Golden's mom was hospitalized. I'm so confused. [People] • Rumor are has it Barbara Walters wants Sherri Shepherd off of The View. If it's true, it was only a matter of time. If it's not… it's only a matter of time. [Bossip] |

Sherri Shepherd used some on-air time on The View today to address some of her quotes in a new issue of Precious Times, a black Christan women's magazine. Basically, she said she had more abortions than she could count (they left out part of the quote, she said) and that is she were Juanita Bynum should would be able to save Barbara Walters (a joke, she said). It was an awkward moment, even for The View. CONTINUED » |

First, let's discuss today's story about Obama in the New York Times. The reporters tell us that she is looking for a new introduction to the American people after some verbal missteps and blatant sexist and racist attacks from the GOP and MSM.
Of course, part of this makeover has to do with her guest appearance on The View today. She gave all of the hosts her signature terrorist fist jabs. Unfortunately, that's all I can relay until I actually see the show. UPDATE Thanks to New York Magazine's live blog* of today's show:
Hear that Appalachia? Muslims aren't normally "bacon people." There's also nothing wrong with being Muslim, but that's beside the point. Check out a brief clip below. |

Incidentally, the women asked him about how he plans to avoid being swiftboated a la John Kerry, and he said the trick is to answer truthfully and forcefully, but also quickly, which is where Kerry went wrong. Whoopi Goldberg asked him what the first three things he would do in office were and he said, get out of Iraq, make health care happen, and solve the energy crisis, with some economic crisis management in between. At the end of the segment, he added that Michelle Obama had no interest in becoming involved in presidential politics, but when they told him he should come back, he was like, uhh…maybe you should invite Michelle instead. Going on The View twice in a campaign is too much, if only because Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd both looked like they were plotting to rape him backstage and Barbara Walters actually referred to him as "sexy-looking." |
|
The ladies on The View disagree about religion, abortion, politics, and the shape of the world, but one thing they all agree on is that Whoopi Goldberg, as the first black person and woman to host the Academy Awards, should have been included in a montage of past Oscar hosts during last nights ceremony. This is actually sort of touching. Goldberg certainly thinks so. |

VOTE SHERRI SHEPHERD IN! Sherri Shepherd is 41 and has never voted. Not because she believes her vote doesn't count, not because she never came across a politician she felt deserved her vote, and not because she's a convicted felon. It's because she “never knew the dates or anything.” Wonderful. Somebody get this woman a coveted spot on a daytime television show. Oh! Done. |

Diddy was on The View today talking about how his daughter changed his life (but clearly didn't help him to respect their mother or women in general), explaining how young kids can become entrepreneurs, and heavily plugging Ciroc vodka, and promoting the preservation of Whoopi Goldberg's "sexy." As ridiculous as his segment sounds, the ladies didn't stop smiling the whole time. |
