This weekend marked the opening of the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut, and everybody who's anybody (just kidding — make that "some celebs who aren't special enough to be in Cannes right now") were in attendance. Diddy even had his own "den" at the opening gala, whatever that means. Check out more pictures after the jump — with Alicia Keys in jeans and Tichina Arnold and Kim Kardashian in evening gowns, I'm guessing something was lost in translation on the invite. CONTINUED »
Will.i.am is back with his second breathless Barack Obama video. This one's called We Are the Ones and features Tichina Arnold, Kerry Washington, Macy Gray, Regina King, George Lopez (smart move, Will!), Jessica Alba, that guy from Ugly Betty, Ryan Phillipe, John Leguizamo, Zoe Kravitz, and more. Undecided voters are powerless before the persuasive powers of Will.i.am and his cadre of celebs!
• Before his sentencing, Michael Vick tried to tell the judge in a heartfelt letter that he was not the beast he was made out to be in the media. Apparently, the judge didn't believe him. [CNN]
• Just when I think Irv Gotti (or Superhead, really) can't get any more disgusting… [EUR, YT]
• This movie looks like a train wreck waiting to happen. [C&D]
• Chris Rock and Tichina Arnold love the children. [People]
I've already told you guys how much I love black actress bonding. What I don't love are those weird '50s pin-up bangs Taraji Henson's sporting these days or Kerry Washington's roots. The talented ladies, who are pretty anyway, hugged it out last night at an LA Confidential magazine party and mingled with Keisha Whitaker, Beverly Johnson, Eric Benet, and others.
At Baron Davis and Paul Pierce's LA Stars 'Rodeo Drive Experience'
Paul Pierce and Baron Davis' All-Star Weekend in L.A. was supposed to be about charity, but wouldn't it have been more charitable for this disaster of a couple to stay home? On second thought, they probably bring much entertainment to whatever party they attend. As long as they keep the PDAs to a minimum, that is.

C-Webb's 2nd annual celebrity weekend went down in Vegas this weekend, and too many people attended the events to name. It's nice to see that celebrities of varying levels of fame can come together for a weekend of charity. And good press. Pics after the jump. CONTINUED »
With all the black music stars in Los Angeles for tomorrow's BET awards, the parties, gifting suites, rehearsals, profoundly ridiculous fashion choices (ahem, Luda), and ill-timed brawls (ahem, T.I.) abounded. Check out more pics from the weekend's BET-inspired events after the jump. CONTINUED »
Robin Thicke, 50 Cent, T.I. and others gathered in Hollywood yesterday to announce the nominations for the BET Awards yesterday. Afterward, 50 participated in a press conference, during which EURweb caught him spouting the following gems of wisdom. Pay close, close attention.
“Are you familiar with politics? Are you familiar with the President’s No. 2 man? You’re familiar with him resigning based on him using, maybe what we’d call a dating service? Maybe he’s hanging out with hoes that we mention in the music. If that doesn’t make you aware of a situation that exists….
“Music is a mirror, and hip hop is a reflection of the environment that we grew up in. It’s the harsh realities that end up in the music. If I ask you to paint a picture of the American flag and not use the color red, you’re gonna have a difficult time. To capture what we try to capture in the art form, I’m sure some conservative Americans can’t [identify] with it because of their lifestyle and the way they’ve actually been brought up, and they haven’t been exposed to those realities.”
Bailey used Master P as an example of a rapper who made the decision to sign positive rappers from now on who do not use the three aforementioned words in their lyrics.
“Well Master P doesn’t sell CDs anymore,” 50 said calmly, which caused the room full of reporters to burst out laughing. “You can tell him I said it. Cameras is rollin’ right? …‘Curtis,’ June 26.”
Right. 50 Cent's rambling thoughts make me dizzier than Miss Jay's do. He's right on the money about Master P, though.
