Nicole Richie, along with scores of other nicely-dressed women, attended the Crystal Lucy Women in Film awards in LA last night. So what if her actual movie-acting experience is limited to a role as a lesbian cheerleader in 2005's Kids In America. It counts!

Target threw Common — 9th best MC in the game right now, according to MTV — a nice little Finding Forever release party attended by a random group of people, including two Diana Ross progeny, Serena Williams and Lauren London. No rapper friends showed love?

Diana Ross: the person is not nearly as well-respected as Diana Ross: the musical icon and for good reason. A new bio about the legend brings up new claims of diva-like behavior, and alleges that not only did The Boss herself terrorize her assistants, little Tracee did too.

Once, Ross reportedly clubbed an airline worker with a hat box, presumably unaware that the box contained a small dog.

But it was personal assistant Michael Browne who hefted the heaviest load of Ross' whims, Taraborelli says.

He put up with her then-9-year-old daughter, Tracee, who was known for carrying a notebook and pencil everywhere she went. If she saw one of Ross' functionaries doing something she thought was wrong, she would quickly jot it down and later report it to her mother, says the author.

Say what you will about Diana, but at least she was teaching her daughter teamwork and the tenets of divadom from an early age. Good help is hard to find.

I'm shocked and amazed at the lack of major fashion don'ts last night, considering the crowd. Even Lil' Kim, while I wouldn't have chosen that outfit/makeup/hair necessarily, could have done much, much worse. I'm not saying there weren't some questionable wardrobe and hair choices — I'm talking to Keyshia Cole and Vivica Fox specifically, here — but in general things were looking pretty good. More red carpet pics than you can handle after the jump.

Part 2: More Celebrities Posing Away Their Dignity

amerie2.jpg

Look how happy Amerie is to be posing with her very own leather BET bag! Yesterday, more stars in town for the BET Awards filed into the "Backstage Creations Talent Retreat" to pick up some free electronics and bags embossed with the network logo. The only one not posing with some merchandise is Flavor Flav, but probably got the publicists didn't think an image of him touching one of their products would make any of us plebes consider going out and buying them. Check out the rest of the pics after the jump.

The Crystal + Lucy Awards Presented By Women in Film, Beverly Hills

traceeellisross.jpg

Tracee Ellis Ross could give her sister Chudney some lessons in class. While her sister idolizes Paris Hilton, Tracee is a woman who, despite her famous mother, has managed to make a name for herself on a hit television show. I may not like her dress, which is kind of matronly, but I like her, and that's all that matters. Check out more pictures from Women in Film's Crystal + Lucy Awards after the jump.
