Six Degrees Of Election Separation

And now for something that has absolutely nothing to do with the election. And I mean nothing. Please tell me you remember Kids Incorporated? And please tell me you know that "Stacy" is the singer who would later be known as Fergie? Wait… Fergie is in the Black Eyed Peas with Will.i.am, who produced the "Yes We Can" tribute song for Barack Obama and campaigned for him…

This George W. Bush-themed spoof of Will.i.am's Barack Obama videos is scarier than the John McCain spoof, but mainly because we actually elected this man. Twice.

Just In Time For March 4th!

Will.i.am is back with his second breathless Barack Obama video. This one's called We Are the Ones and features Tichina Arnold, Kerry Washington, Macy Gray, Regina King, George Lopez (smart move, Will!), Jessica Alba, that guy from Ugly Betty, Ryan Phillipe, John Leguizamo, Zoe Kravitz, and more. Undecided voters are powerless before the persuasive powers of Will.i.am and his cadre of celebs!

beyonceyeswecan.jpgWill.i.am is once again wrangling celebrities for an inspirational video based on one of Barack Obama's speeches. This time, he's focusing on the speech Obama made in Chicago after Super Tuesday. And he says finding celebs to participate hasn't been a problem at all.

"Right now, since we're in the early stages, I think the song is gonna be called 'We Are the Ones.' It's inspired by a line in his speech after Super Tuesday, when he was in Chicago: 'We are the ones we have been waiting for,' " he told MTV News. "It lit another inspirational fire in me when he said that in his speech. So I decided to get to work on another track. We're lining up people to appear on it right now, and that's the easy part, because people are just passionate to want to be a part of it. There's no casting … the inspiration is the casting director."

On deck for the new video (the last one featured John Legend, Common, Scarlett Johannson, Aisha Tyler, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kate Walsh, Tatyana Ali, Nick Cannon, Herbie Hancock, and others) are John Leguizamo, George Lopez, and Jessica Alba (Si, Si Peude!), plus Ryan Phillippe, Ben McKenzie, and Macy Gray. Also…drumroll, please…none other than Beyonce is slated to appear, but only if she can clear her schedule, of course. [MTV]

If nothing else, this hilarious, McCain-centric spoof of will.i.am's "Yes We Can" video reinforces the idea that the Democrats really, really, really need to stick together.

I would think Will.i.am would look happier than this, considering he's riding the high of his new star-studded Barack Obama video. Or maybe that's just his picture face. He and the rest of the Black Eyed Peas hosted the 4th Annual Peapod Foundation Benefit concert last night. And guess what? Hammer was there! Always a true sign that an event was a succcess.
More after the jump.

Will.i.am got some of Barack Obama's A-List supporters (and some not as A-List supporters) together to sing/talk along to Barack Obama's "Yes We Can" speech and, basically, express their undying love. John Legend, Common, Scarlett Johannson, Aisha Tyler, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kate Walsh, Tatyana Ali, Nick Cannon, Herbie Hancock, and some people I don't recognize participated. Will.i.am said stars were eager to join in once word of the song got around.

"I'm blown away by how many people wanted to come and be a part of it in a short amount of time. It was all out of love and hope for change and really representing America and looking at the world," will.i.am said.

Dylan and will.i.am say they did not coordinate the production or release of this video with the Obama campaign and the filmmakers say they don't even know if Obama is aware of the video.

Rihanna, who won the big prize — Favorite Female Artist — at the American Music Awards yesterday, doesn't win the prize for favorite outfit. I actually think she might win the opposite prize.

The big winner in the male category was T.I., and although he obviously couldn't make it, check out pics of some of the other attendees after the jump.

Kanye West had to bow out of performing at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in LA last night for obvious reasons, but never fear! The Spice Girls, who look mostly the same, although the majority of them have gotten way, way skinnier, were on hand to lend their peforming services. This may or may not have been disastrous. I'll need to check it out when it airs.

I'll give it to Victoria's Secret. With Jessica White, Selita Ebanks, and Noemie Lenoir stomping down the catwalk, they've got one up on most designers that show during fashion week. Three black models don't exactly make an army (although there could have been more that weren't pictured), but still. More pics — the men should like these — after the jump.

mtve_kellyrowland.jpg Why did I choose Kelly Rowland as the lead photograph for this post about the MTV Europe Movie Awards in Munich last night? Because everyone, even young ladies who will go down in history for playing second fiddle to a bigger, more talented star, deserve their time in the spotlight. More pics after the jump.

Rihanna Loves The White Actors

• Rihanna seen making out with Josh Hartnett? I see it more than that Shia LaBeouf thing. [US]

• Twice, Foxy Brown has refused to get on the correction department bus that's supposed to transport her from Rikers to the Brooklyn courthouse. Just because. [SP]

• Usher and Tameka get some good PR from Essence. [Bossip]

• Whatever, you know Oprah has someone carrying her bags for her. [Jossip]

• With the proceeds from her monstrously successful album, from which she keeps pulling singles to make videos for, Fergie should get Will.i.am some teeth-whitening. [CL]

We Began Today With Janet, Let's End It The Same Way

• It's really all Janet Jackson all the time around these parts. [BV]

• Wesley Snipes catches a break. Not a tax break, it's important to note. [SP]

• Will.i.am has trouble fielding the tough questions. [Bossip]

• This just really doesn't look like any check-up I've ever seen. [C&D]

• It's the old "wrong address" defense. Good one. [MTV]

All the stars came out for Will.i.am's record release party in Beverly Hills last night.

And by "all the stars," I mean the rest of the Black Eyed Peas and a few other people. And maybe some anonymous girls with lovely lady lumps and genius IQs.

I bet you didn't know that the Black Eyed Peas "My Humps" is actually a feminist anthem. Will.i.am recently came clean and admitted that the song was written for all of those really smart women out there hidden behind double Ds and small waists. And to think we never would have known.

I always wondered what it must be like to be a girl, always gettin’ pulled on. Maybe she’s the smartest genius on the planet, but she’s rackin’ double Ds with a 26-inch waist and a big ol’ ass and no one’s ever gonna see her like that because that’s the way the world is.

Remind me never to take advice from Will.i.am on how to accurately execute an artistic vision.

Mariah Carey showed up to a recent recording session with will.i.am wearing a ball gown. But he doesn't want you to get the wrong idea about what kind of person she is, oh no!

The hip-hop super producer insists that Carey wasn't trying the make a statement - she just couldn't be bothered to change.

The My Humps hitmaker explains, "Mariah was cool. She came into the studio wearing a big ball gown. She was like, `I'm so sorry! I know everybody thinks I'm a diva, but I'm wearing this because I've just come from a party and I didn't want to go home and change.' She's a real diva in her own right, but she is real cool."

Isn't saying that you can't be bothered to change out of your ball gown somewhat of a statement in and of itself? I can't say I care what she wears in the studio, but that is certainly not normal. Well, this is Mariah we're talking about.
