A number of curious things within the Hillary Clinton campaign — she will hold her post-primary rally in her home state of New York, her advisor Harold Ickes supposedly had a goodbye conference call with superdelegates, and Clinton field staff have been told to stand down and are now sending out resumes — point to the senator withdrawing from the race after Montana and South Dakota's primary tonight. Then again, other signs point to that not happening. Mainly this: "Aides stressed she had no plans to withdraw from the race Tuesday night." Despite the word from aides, it is expected and predicted by friends and foes alike that Clinton's speech tonight will be of the farewell variety. [AP]
Her only goal at this point is to destroy the democratic party!
Regardless of what her aides may say, I think she's gonna call it quits tonight. I also think Obama is gonna be here in New York as well tonight. Hmmmm
Meh, she ran her campaign and she fought for what she presumed to be hers. Her presumptiveness–and the lack of a plan beyond racialized dog-whistling and other race-baiting tactics when Sen. Obama and his campaign upended that presumption–cost her a lot, almost too much, IMO.
But, she did her, as Black folks would say. I think I'm going to wait to hear the results and how she handles it. She's doggedly tenacious person, so she may still try to hold on some sort of way….we'll see.
If she really wants to pursue her agenda, she should try to be nominated to the Supreme Court. Presidents come and go. Justices stay till they're carried out. She's do more good there than in the Oval Office. (This from someone who has grown to despise her over the course of this campaign.)
What say you, BMD?
I think she's done today. At least I hope so, for everyone's sake, including hers. Her white power strategems and her overall divisiveness make me believe that revenge is most definitely part of her repertory as well. She should sit out her last term as senator and see if she can somehow redeem herself in genuine public service, as opposed to backroom arm-twisting.
At one type I was a HUGE Bill Clinton fan. When Hillary decided to run for POTUS I felt no one could come close to beating her. And then, as Father Pflieger said, from out of nowhere came Barack Obama! I've never been so inspired by someone in my life! (And I've been around a long time!) The way Hill & Bill have run her campaign have made me lose respect for both of them. Can't stand to even hear her voice. Congratulations Barack! You WILL be our next Pres. YES WE CAN!
Ooops! I meant "at one time".
