The Roots Are Green

The Roots, one of my favorite groups, came in at No. 10 on Billboard's countdown of the greenest musicians. They got kudos for their annual pre-Grammy party, nicknamed the "Green Carpet Bash," where they gave away signed compost bins to encourage their use.

Band members are also active in PETA's "Stop the Violence: Go Veg!" campaign, and, according to Billboard, the Roots-associated Web site, Okayplayer.com, boasts discussion topics like "Should horticulture replace agriculture?" and "Anyone know any recipes that are rich in vitamin B17?" Love them — even if I didn't say anything when I was seated next to ?uestlove at Cafeteria in NYC last fall.[Billboard]

Have you seen them live??? Fucking awesome!!! I've seen them 7 or 8x. Their best show IMHO was at Jazzfest in '05. They did their hits and then did renditions of White Stripes and Franz Ferdinand songs. They were the highlight (along with the Black Crows) for me. Dancing barefoot in the grass to The Roots live!!

AuNappturale they have a new album coming out April 29th! And are on tour with Erykah Badu. So you have less than a week until you can hear some new music from them!

@ Neenee, new album, in a few days!?!? That is what I will spend some money on…even though it will cost me $20 in gas to get to the nearest store!

They are fake as hell! They aren't vegetarians. Some of the members eat soul food at restaurants which includes meat.

On top of that they are some fake pseudo Afrocentric brothers! They go goo-goo gaa-gaa for white women overseas. (I know Cord loves that!) One the lightskinned dude Rashad is messing with some South African apartheid loving curry chick. SELLOUTS!
