In defense of Nicole, I don't think she's overrated. I think she's overpaid. She's a good actress (not the best, but still) who has picked a lot of crappy projects.

Nicolas Cage, he's always the intelligent eccentric who saves the day. I don't know why he annoys me so much recently, seems like I used to like him years ago.

There are so, so many… even the really talented ones become overrated at some point… and then there are some that aren't talented on any level… I don't even want to start a list because some of my friends (who are actors) and the actors here at Bard On The Beach are often as talented as the most gifted Hollywood stars.

Most Hollywood-types are overrated. Thats not to say that they're bad at what they do, just their work is given more praise than the actual of their work would indicate. Great example: Will Smith. To me he had 1 great great movie, Six Degrees of Separation, while the rest of his stuff is okay.

As for rappers and other music-types eh… there isn't enough time to separate the mediocre one's from the straight up shi**y one's. All the all-time greats are either dead(Miles Davis, James Brown) or so far away from the mainstream that you'd need an electron microscope to find 'em.

I read everyone list and my comment is this: Overexposure is not equal to Overrated there is a big difference folks. The best example is Oprah, I'm sorry, whether you like her or not the woman is damn good at what she does. Hence the reason she is everywhere. Please don't confuse the two.

O yes, Tyra is badass when she is not talking and hence taking pic being a model and I respect her grind and work ethic. But as a talkshow/reality show host she is overrated.

Oh, I love me some Gwyneth Paltrow. She is a decent actress and yeah, she's overrated in the acting department but I love her stank attitude. It works for her. I love ice queens in general.

Brad Pitt is a sometimes good actor and sometimes awful actor though he's been better in recent years. I don't think anyone's ever accused him of being the greatest actor. He's a super star and that requires popularity, not heaps of talent. The most talented actors aren't very bankable.

Jennifer Lopez and Madonna are overrated
Matt Damon is overrated in the talent department. People judge his talent relative to Ben Affleck's and that makes him seem more talented than he actually is. He also doesn't seem like someone I'd voluntarily spend time with while Ben Affleck, though less talented, seems cool.
