Hundreds of couples have married in California since gay marriage became legal yesterday evening. Where do you see this going in California — will it soon be knocked down by the anti-gay-marriage folks or is California's Supreme Court ruling a sign of more of the same to come from other states? If so, how do you feel about it?
I don't care either way because it's none of my BI what other people do in their bedrooms.
I think it is great. It says in the constitution ALL men are created equal not all straight men. Why should'nt gay people have the same rights. For the record I am a straight black woman and I support gay people's right to marriage.
I agree..God says "Love Thy Neighbor" and thats what I do…Gay marriage should be legal in ALL states
–BTW I am also a straight black woman and I fully support gay rights
God does say love thy neighbor but He doesn't stop there …and it is not the same thing as condoning gay marriage. With that said..I would not fight against gay marriage but I wouldn't bring God in it either.
I think that it's great!! As Howard Stern once said gays should have the right to be married and become as misterable as straight people. What I don't like is when gays try to equate what they experience as the same as what blacks go through. That makes me angry.
I have lots of gay friends, so I'm all for it. Besides, straight people have done such a great job of upholding the sanctity of marriage, why not let gays have a crack at it?
If people really cared about the "sanctity of marriage", they'd cap Hollywood celebrities at three weddings. After that, no soup for you.
That decision surprised and pleased me.
Marriage is a civil right.
For the record - since others have said it- I am a black lesbian (so is my partner) - and I fully support gay marriage
I'm for anything that creates more business for domestic lawyers! Mo' money!
But really, I'm happy that people can decide to be together with the same protections as straight folks.
Hmmm….considering that quite a few state legislators passed the Defense of Marriage Act, which says their state only recognizes opposite-sex marriages and that we have a rather conservative US Supreme Court, a national edict (SCOTUS overturn or legislative repeals) favoring same-sex marriage may be a grueling fight. But absolutely worth it.
Personally, I've got my rose petals ready to toss at the next wedding.:-)
I am a black gay man, and I was cool with just settling for civil unions, I thought it is was all blown out of proportion and just a semantics thing. Then the guy I am sorta dating equated that too being able to ride in the back of the bus. So I felt like an A$$, I would like to think that any struggle is at least comparable and that one group can be inspired by the stuggle of another.
I think it is a good thing, I am just concerned about what to wear to a gay wedding, I would imagine that you have to come with the A-game
I think its a great thing, more power to people who actually are IN LOVE and want to unite and reap the same legal benefits that straight people do. Now I think it will get a little tricky when some members of the gay community want to find a minister to preside over a ceremony (I mean hey who says they gotta do the justice of peace thing, thats so boring)
Also I would like to see this happen in others states, and for all those that are against gay marriage, I guess you just got crossed off the guest list.lol

Gay men and women should be free to marry in ALL 50 states, but I am happy CA and MA are leading the way for the other 48 states.
My very best friend is a gay male who has been with his partner for almost 16 years. I'm so happy they can get married here in Cali!!! Stop and think of how many straight couples stay married that long these days. I say-'bout damn time !
