I'm tired of the "hard-working class Americans" - read White Americans not voting for Obama. I'm tired of veteran folks such as John McLaughlin calling Obama an "Oreo." I'm tired about how "exotic" Obama is; as if millions of Americans don't share the same background. How about the issues for a change? Talk about an economy I don't understand in my short life. Talk about the elephant in the room with Iraq war. And maybe find a way to restore our image around the world. I don't think I'm asking for much.
I don't want to hear any more about Obama's patriotism or whether Michelle is angry. I also want to punch people in the mouth when they say Black people are being too sensitive to the supposedly innocent "jokes" and "satires" White liberals and conservatives are putting out that are disgustingly racist.
I'm sick of hearing about Obama's shocking move to the center after securing the nomination. If you're truly surprised by this, you haven't been paying attention.
Here. Let me translate this since there was a need to post it in French. *blank stare* And I won't comment on it; I'll just translate it. (you can add up the numbers yourself *whistles*)
Percentage of white people for Obama: 31%
Percentage of white people for McCain: 34%
White people don't judge the candidates based on skin color.
Percentage of Black people for Obama: 83%
Percentage of Black people for McCain: 5%
Black people judge the candidates based on their skin color. (Racism)
I'm tired of anything that has to do with the Obama family because it reminds me of how Black people are treated everyday… like nobody ever saw a Black person. Like everything the man does is up for dissection. We do something at work or school that everyone else does and it takes on a life of its own. WHAT'S THAT? BLACK STUDENTS ARE SITTING ON THE QUAD. smh
I'm tired of it all. I've stopped watching news especially cable news because they're all so ridiculous. I usually get my Obama fix here or on Huffington Post. No doubt I love Obama, I'm just tired of all the blah, blah, blah about it. I check in every once in a while to see how my guys doing though.
EVERYTHING!!! At this point the Obama and the misses could take a morning shit on my neighbors lawn and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.
Its not like they don't have valid points when they begin these "hot button" topics, its that all meaning has been lost and its now TV drama.
Can we just get on with the elections already?
Seriously.
And BTW, Jessie Jackson is going to the right way for a kick in the ass for opening his mouth. You think he would have learned when he tried to run for office. Remember that?
What?: Since you posted in French, you may — emphasis on may — be unfamiliar with the traditional leanings of American voter demographics. Black Americans, on average, vote 9/10 for the Democratic candidate and have done so for at least half a century, way before people were even dreaming of a black primary candidate for any major political party. However, prior to the primaries, there have been quite a few black candidates in the past, few of whom had an overwhelming lead with black voters, even when they were options in the party preferred by the majority of black voters.
On a related note, I'm tired of the "how is Obama going to get republicans to vote for him?" stories. Why is the voting bloc that the media wrings its hands over always a right-leaning faction? Security moms, Nascar dads, Reagan Democrats… the only well-publicized voter angst that the Republican party ever seems to have is is "energizing the base."
I completely agree, J. The thing that has upset ME the most about this was actually something that was something that got brought up on The View, and it pissed me off. Elisabeth's insistence that we all live in the "same world" and Whoopi saying no we don't.
Heffa, if we lived the same world, people wouldn't be so damn mystified by everything we do! Obama and Michelle fist bumping — oooh, what's that?! Terrorist fist jab? I've never seen a black person (or a white person, frankly) do that! Because I apparently don't watch TV or leave my apartment. Or, Michelle was really "angry" in her essay. IN THE '80S. Because apparently, no one else lived through the '80s and knows how black people were treated differently as compared to now.
It's basically the equivalent of a black person during Jim Crow saying, "I wish black people had more rights" and someone white saying "Hey! Slavery is over! Why so serious?!"
The reason we hear so much more about Obama than McCain is because they have him under a freakin' microscope because the mainstream does not trust him as much. America could care less when McCain goes for a chicken dinner, but with Obama, they want to know that and what he ordered on the side. That being said, I admire him greatly, he is one of the greatest thinkers of our time and I hope America wakes up and sees we need him.

I'm tired of hearing everything about him. He can't take a shit w/o someone reporting on the fact that he had corn for dinner.
I'm with you, Bronze Trinity.

Wake me up when November ends
Why not, I don't have anything to do…

That looks so cool.

Excellent point, Ira. Very true!
@ Divergent DANA
Tu écrits très bien en français!
Nice job!
I can't take credit. I ran it through Babelfish, hence the n00b "that looks so cool" at the end. I speak n00b fluently.
