hell naw. i'm fascinated and disgusted by the level of patriotism necessary to make such a decision. i also don't think the military would take me anyway so no one's missing out.
I wouldn't mind serving as a military doctor. They pay for your medical school tuition and give u an allowance. And when u finish school, all u do is treat patients at the base of your choice (with all ur living expenses covered).
I don't like guns. I can not kill someone. I will poop my pants. I could not get past basic training with my asthma.
Even in multilayer Halo, im the one that is 2 steps behind LOL.
Hell to the Nah. I can't risk my life for bullshit and I can't kill people. I definitely can't take orders from some man on a power trip. And I'm very out of the closet (although according to a few people I know in the military, in some branches the majority of women and men are openly gay).
I AM IN. 9 more months to go! Good ole' U.S Army. The organization that I've handed 3 perfectly good years of my life that I could have spent more constructively, like say-Go to school and get a altruistic job. But I'm sitting in South Korea not doing a damn thing. It's funny how things work out. Oh and just so everyone knows, EVERYONE THAT JOINS THE ARMY DOES NOT GO TO THE MIDDLE EAST! So stop with the foolishness about not being able to kill anyone or get shot at. I have yet(and will probably never) experience neither with so short time left.
The military isn't hard. It's the backhanded shit the government imposes on us that make us fustrated.
Nope wouldn't do it. I have a terrible temper (notice I didn't say attitude), and don't take getting yelled at from anyone too well. Would probably get a dishonorable discharge for blackin out on multiple people. My granddad (WWII), dad (Viet), and multiple cousins (1st Gulf War) have told me to not even think about it.
I feel you! Coming from a military fam (husband navy, dad navy, 3 uncles marines, and a handful of cousins army, marines, navy), its a WHOLE LOTTA BULLSHIT! Thank the LORD my husband is out in 6months, I'm countin the days.
But the part of Jersey he's from, he didn't really have a choice: either get a low wage job, try go to school, or start sellin on the corner.
He didn't have the money for school, you can't live off the wages there, and he didn't want be doin that other shit, so the navy was his best option. Unfort, this is the situation for a lot of people who join the military.
I really suck at following orders, so the army probably doesn't want me. I'm also 5" tall, and the 70lb pack an infantryman has to carry sounds like a bit much.
I like to think I'd serve if there was a clearer moral imperative, but the way we've been running our show militarily the past few decades, I'm reluctant to say yes.
I served in the "good ole days" when you could get college paid for and you didn't have to worry about dying (late 90s until 2000). I really enjoyed it until I graduated from college. Then it got really old.
never. government sends lamb to sacrifice for selfish and corrupt needs. I seriously think the way the US is heading there will be a draft in the near future.

Ima keep it real

Being an army brat, I am fully aware that I am not military material. But I can be an AWESOME dependent.

Wouldn't do it for all the money in the world.

That said, HELL NO I WOULD NEVER JOIN!

In the words of my favorite rehabbed crackhead: Hell to the naw!
